2014 Spring Trends (For Both Sexes): Because You Must Not Be Outdressed!!

In the west, winter is gradually coming to an end, after which spring will commence [March to May] & like the weather, clothes will change. In Nigeria, (where most of our readers come from) we are in the dry season (we have just two, the other is rainy). For Nigerians, changing clothes is not because we want to look good during a certain season, it’s in our blood, we just love to show off & make people see that we know what’s up.

For stylish men & women who want to be en vogue, here are the top sane spring trends. For men, we are anti-everything girly because we believe men should always look like men & for Ladies, we took out the razz, bitchy stuff. You have 2 months to save up (we know that you spent a lot during the holidays, we too), buy, see your tailor, make your clothes & get ready to look trendy in the next few months… And for those who don’t understand this trend thingy, this is a peek into what will be trending in a few months… Be prepared.

We searched them all…

We observed street styles & those fashion editors during the numerous fashion weeks…
So you know we’re not making shit up.

WOMEN- ON TOP(S): Women are inching towards men in concept & they seem to no longer be satisfied with putting on the trousers in offices & in the house. This spring, girls have been permitted to redefine the male dress shirt. You can cut it, put a skinny belt on it, use ties, chains or whatever you like. Sky Blue & White shirts are the best picks. Contrasting collar button down shirts are on point (Alexander Wang, BCBG). Basically, it’s a dress shirt with its collars, button parts & cuffs in another colour that contrasts beautifully with the colour of the shirt. A cool approach to this dress shirt trend is to wear one that is fitted but is so long that it could pass for a dress. Use contrasting collars & put on a skinny belt to emphasise (or depict) curves. Plaid dress shirts with long trousers are in, shift blouses are on point & CROP TOPS (Lazuli, Jewel by Lisa) are going NO WHERE yet!

MEN- COLOURS: The reigning colours for men are Blue, Grey, Pink (any shade) & White. As a matter of fact, all-white & all-grey outfits are top ensembles. In Nigeria it’s going to be easy to rock this because the weather is dry. Have no fear!

WOMEN- CHIFFON: (Tai Adeboyeku, Christian Dior, Tae, Oscar de la Renta) Lace may... Read more at colawole.
