MAKURDI — A 21-year-old final year female
student of the Benue State University, BSU,
Joan Adaaku, has been reportedly found dead
in a hotel room located in the heart of
Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
Vanguard gathered from sources who
preferred anonymity that the Economics
undergraduate had checked into Savannah
Guest House at about 7 a.m after paying
N2,000 for a room
According to the source, “She actually
arrived the hotel alone and after underaking
some check-in formalities she entered the
room and locked herself up.
“She never came out of her room again either
to ask for food or any other things. So, at
exactly 6 p.m, a room attendant knocked on
her door to find out if she was interest in
being attended to by room service.
“Her silence aroused suspicion and the room
attendant, who repeated his call to the room
at 8pm without reply, alerted the manager on
duty.
“It was at that point that the management
alerted the Police who moved in and broke into
the room and discovered the lifeless body of
the lady in a position that suggested she was
making a call before her death.
Vanguard gathered that the deceased had on
her a small purse which contained a Bible,
rosary and N8,200. A bottle of water and a
bottle of soft drink were also discovered in
the room.
Contacted, the Benue State Police Public
Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent,
DSP, Daniel Ezeala who confirmed the incident
said investigation into the matter had
commenced.

Police can unravel the cause by checking missed, received & dialled calls.

And also checking the drinks left in the cans/bottles. For possible poisoning.

If only we have forensic department in our police force,they should be able to unravel the cause of this death. I smell something suspicious here.

No suicide. Probably an abortion was done and she needed to conceal it by resting in the hotel. the last number she dialed would help alot.

I doubt if this is suicide .
Authorities concerned should analyse the soft drink as
well for food poisoning.

Not neccessarily. She could also have genuine reasons staying in an hotel. Probably her family live in a different city and she has some legit. things to do, but no friends around to put up with. It's from my personal experience that I am saying.

I am very suspicious of anything like investigations & official statements from the nigerian police. Its always world's best collection of lies badly patched together

Did the article mention two different bottled stuffs? Like water or Lacasera. "there broke in to see her lifeless body" i've never heard someone's death was as sweet as painless, except dead while asleep. "in a position that suggested she was making" abi person die tru phone calls?

You never can tell. I also think there are positions that'll suggest pains (twisting, wriggling, holding tommy, clenching teeth,etc), just my thought anyway, you may be right in your assertion though.
