‘’Last year, by January 17th I had already collected fees and had work and bookings totaling 34% of my year’s income target’’ – Dan Kennedy

Yes! You can read that statement again. That was a good start of a new year for someone who had a goal and also a system to achieve it. But come to think of it, at that point, only (17 days out of the 365 days in 2013) 5% of the year’s days were used up, but Dan Kennedy had already made 34% income projection for the year.

You can copy Dan’s strategy by first following the 2 steps below;

Have an income targets
Second, daily measure where you are in relationship to your targets. Do it daily!
As the New Year is beginning, you have to pre-determine (as best you could) where your target income would come from. This will show how realistic your income target is. You first have to determine what to do to make the money you so desire or the kind of opportunities to look out for that can help you achieve your financial targets.

Make a list of as much of the entire year’s income beforehand on paper, looking to see who will be giving you money, when, for what and noting what you need to do to “collect.”

This will help you determine how easily you might say “no” to marginal or less than ideal opportunities.

You also have to measure—again daily— your collected earnings, what’s under contract, to be collected earnings, whether or not you are on pace, ahead of schedule or lagging behind.

If you want to achieve your financial goals this year, you must treat them instead as a hard-nosed, tough-minded, pragmatic “management” of your “objectives.” You must be serious about monitoring them daily and realize that too much of the metaphysical community thinking of “think it and it will come” is delusional B.S. and flawed thinking.

By the end of January, 8.5% of the days in this year will be gone. Will you be on target, ahead of the game or lagging behind in your income target for the year? If behind, what do you plan to do about it?

The year is still new and very fresh. There is still room for making goals and strategizing on how to achieve them. If you do nothing again right now, 2014 will end just the same way 2013 ended without achieving much. It’s all your choice. So, act now!
