As we should know, a Watch List is a synonym for Black Book. The sort kept in Schools or Registries as a secret profiling of some errant students or employees. In the Mafia, the Hit List is the semantic variant used. Those on the hit list of the Mafia are not only kept under watchful surveillance, but are marked for elimination. Woe betide you if your name is on it. The Hit List is the Book of Death and very opposite of the Biblical Lambs Book of Life.

Given the deposition of Chief Obasanjo, he alleged that Mr President's Watch List has an endangered population of 1000 names. If I understand his petition, the 1000 are primed for hit men to finish them off. Did OBJ not add that, Snipers are being trained where Late tyrant, Gen. Sani Abacha trained his strike force, to stalk and trail those on the Watch List with a view to kill? While the Presidency denied the allegations, Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State jumped into the fray, claiming number one spot on the Hit List.

Before we could say, 'Jack', the irritable former Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nasir El' Rufai added himself and others to President Jonathan's Watch List. Perhaps for effect, he further revealed that, his All Progressives Congress, APC, comrades, including, Bola Tinubu, Bisi Akande and Muhammadu Buhari are also on the exclusive list.
