Abia State Governor, Theodore Orji, on Tuesday said some members of the Peoples Democratic Party were wishing President Umaru Yar’Adua dead.

He said an assessment of the criticisms directed at Yar’Adua over the state of his health revealed that they did not come from politicians in opposition parties.

Orji, who was one of the governors that visited the President at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, told journalists that the Progressive Peoples Alliance was not a part of the criticisms, especially the calls for Yar’Adua to resign on health grounds.

Orji said, “My party is not among those that criticised the President. We believe in the Government of National Unity.

“If you take a good look at the people criticising him, they are even the ones in the President‘s party. They are the ones wishing him dead.

“People in the opposition are not wishing him bad, they are wishing him well.”
