Emmab Plaza Abuja Horror! :( by jude33084(m): 9:41am On Jun 28, 2014 |
Nwankpa Eze David: I just watched videos of the Emmab Plaza Abuja Nigeria Bomb blast. I saw panic! I saw people wounded! I saw human forms mashed! Mangled Fried Torn to pieces Shredded Bloodied I saw a human arm-Broiled I saw roasted flesh I saw terror I saw human resilience I heard voices I heard cries I heard wails I heard shouts I heard Chants I heard Christ I heard Allah I heard the Blood of Jesus And the person videoing- was chanting Islam But I saw none of the deities I saw not their intervention No gods surfaced None of them sent their judgement I saw Christians I saw Muslims I saw not religion- or its intervention A Muslim was consoling a Christian And for once- I couldn't tell their difference Everyone was crying Begging their deities We have been indoctrinated into Pleading for mercy That is not forth-coming I saw Igbos I saw Hausas I could tell from their dresses I heard Yoruba Someone calling Abasi And Tamuno I knew there were ethnic minorities Running along with the majorities I saw approaching Anarchy I saw a state of pandemonium I saw that young man bloodied I saw cars reversing In total disorderliness I saw the Police running I saw me I saw You I saw the black race I saw Humanity In a state of Destruction This is no poem Or literary trials I saw Nigeria Before it was finished But this reminded me of a Poem "Rumours"- some months earlier And Another. "Muted"- about a year ago I also recalled a book "There was a Country" I saw Nigeria- struggling in its last breath I know its coming War!!! The video suddenly finished I kept my device down slowly And cried my heart to no deity Nor Religion I cried for Nigeria I cried in despair I cried for a place- I used to call home I despaired for the betrayal I hate the government And the insurgents And Boko Haram I hated on me too- For not being able to do something To ease the pain Or stop the carnage Anny Razor's poem 1 Like |
