A grave peril of Christian leadership is dat of disqualification. Every Christian leader must be obedient, prayerful, watchful, temperate nd self disciplined so dat after acting as a herald who bids others into d Kingdom of God, he himself should not miss Heaven. As a leader,it is possible to be disqualified by God.In 1 Samuel 15:20-24,we see Saul being disqualified by God:"For rebellion is as d sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity nd idolatry. Because thou hast rejected d word of d LORD,he hath also rejected thee 4rm being king". No person is indispensable. As a Christian leader,u should always be conscious of d fact dat God has substitutes. I pray dat u will not be rejected by God in Jesus' Name. One factor dat is responsible 4 disqualification is disobedience. Sacrifice is good, but obedience is better than sacrifice.In our service to God,we should always bear in mind dat wat He requires 4rm us is total obedience.Hapharzard obedience is worse than outright disobedience.If u want to serve God nd not be disqualified,u must be ready to obey everything d Lord asks u to do.Obey all His commandments regardless of whether dey re convenient or not. Another stumbling block dat leads to disqualification is carelessness.Many Christians re careless. Dey compromise their stand,yet dey do not want to be disqualified. A careless nd irresponsible servant might end up bcomin disqualified by d Lord. In order not to be disqualified,u should watch nd pray. A Christian leader should be watchful nd careful of all little foxes dat destroy d vine.Dese include anger, bitterness, jealousy, inordinate ambition, strife, gluttony, lust, dishonesty, malice, not studying nd obeying d word of God, impatience, talkativeness, etc. To avoid being disqualified by d Lord,we should live holy nd practice d principle of self-assessment. Assess urself on a daily basis to confirm dat u re still in d Lord. Assess d motive behind ur service, d level of ur zeal, and d level of ur commitment.
