Plural Executive by apemy: 10:44am On Jun 29, 2014 |
Hello Nairalanders. Lets try something different. We all are aware that our democracies have presidents/governors/mayors and their vice/deputies. What if we increased the number of these offices so there will not be a single person at the helm. Now instead of having a Single President/VP on National level Single Governor/Deputy on state level Single Mayor/Deputy on local level we would expand the number of executives in office to more than 1. An illustration: So currently we have GEJ as President of the Republic of Nigeria. In the Plural execuive model , Nigeria would have instead nine(this number will vary,a country like Liberia might have five) presidents: Say we have the following Nine People as CoPresidents- Gani Fawehimi Dora Akunyili Goodluck Jonathan Nuhu Ribadu Muhammadu Buhari Farida Waziri Sanusi Lamido Sanusi Chinweizu Ibekwe Atiku Abubakar You may want to see a different combination of copresidents , depending on who you are,but that's why there are elections. See it is more like a board of directors(with no chairperson). It is explained here:http://apemy.netau.net/ Just Think: If Nigeria had more than one president,Yar Adua dying in office would not have caused so much chaos. If Nigeria had more than one president, there would be no Fire and brimstone about Atiku being elected to office to finish Yar Adua's term. If Nigeria had more than one president, there would be no distracting and counterproductive north/south power rotation. If Jonathan was sharing power with 8 other people,we probably would not have the removal of fuel subsidies,or if we did,we would be better informed why it happened. How they come to decision making is discussed here:http://apemy.netau.net/#DM http://apemy.netau.net/#apemy.weightedvote Some of the positives to having a plural executive is discussed here:http://apemy.netau.net/#bene Here we analyze the many downsides of having a sole chief executive:http://apemy.netau.net/#inverse This section portrays that leadership is Africa's real problem. If you scroll to the bottom of the page, there is a really great display of how vulnerable having a sole leader is , pertaining to the Ivory Coast , Ouattara , Gbagbo and colonial power France. http://saharareporters.com/article/real-losers-ekiti-election-0 In addition to that, the PDP used money and other gifts including food items to the poor masses to vote for them. The good and innocent people of Ekiti should have collected whatever was offered and vote for the candidates of their choices, but that was not the case. http://apemy.netau.net/#Nigeria.Ekiti.2014 http://apemy.netau.net/#inverse (pls disable javascript) |
