My jaw dropped when i saw this on FoxNews:

Olympic track star Alysia Montano is eight months pregnant, but that didn't stop her from running in the 800-meter race at the US Track And Field Championship.

What are your thoughts on the implications of her actions?

Ok. Did she win the race?

Meestique: Ok. Did she win the race?
Not even the 5th position.
Just a selfish attention seeker putting her baby's life in grave danger.

What if she trips? or what if a co-athlete runs in to her legs?
At 8 months, she is far too gone to be taking such risk.

2-3 months pregnancy, still ok, but not 8 months

She's putting her baby in needless danger.
It shows that she values the race and publicity more than the unborn child.

Her body may be well adjusted to this kind of physical activity, and she was said to have consulted her doctor.
But mom and baby could be at the verge of death in a matter of minutes due to rupture, placenta previa etc.
I wonder about the official that even cleared her for the race.
