We have got another contract to build yet another house for another good friend. I think this year will be very loaded for the Spyder's team. The details of the project are as follows.

Project: Construction of a new 5 bedroom fully detached duplex
Location: Enugu town, Enugu state
Client: A Nairalander
Contractor: Tigerkenn Nig LTD
Budget: N 9.5m
Duration: 75 days.

The other finer details of this house are,5 bedrooms all en suite, an ante-room, a large main lounge, large kitchen, dining room beautiful designed columns, a visitor's toilet, beautiful balconies, etc.

The budget mentioned above, is for all the works in this house starting from the foundation till all of the roofing is done with stone coated roofing tiles, it does not include any finish works like the plastering, doors, windows, tiles, plumbing or electrical wires.

We are going to be building this house inside an estate in Enugu town, beautiful place where a lot of people are already building there homes. The state government has gone ahead and provided a road network throughout the estate.

First task was to bring down the existing unfinished building at the site. I got my boys to break up the house and remove the debris.

Yes you are right, but that is after we have compacted the foundation by ponding it with enough water.

We pour a lot of water to sink in the loose soil which we pack back into the foundation, the water lets the soil to sink in and settle, making our compression easier. DPC means Damp Proof Course.
