President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has approved the establishment of Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas in Bonny, Rivers State, with a take off grant of N1billion for the Polytechnic to commence academic activities. The President also approved the appointment of Professor Elijah Tamuno Iyagba as Rector, while Mr. Willabo A. Gilbert is to serve as Registrar. The President further approved the appointment of Mr Akpomeyoma Gabriel as Bursar and Mr Ata John Woke Ajala as Polytechnic Librarian. Supervising Minister of Education, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike described the establishment of the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas in Bonny, Rivers State as a practical expression of the President’s commitment to improving access to tertiary education, creation of employment and the empowerment of the youths with the necessary skills to contribute to national development. www.monitor9ja.com 5 Likes

Retarclueless president! Our opposition has to improve for democracy to matter again. Everyone is doing their part except the opposition which can criticize and examine intelligently. What does ASUP's strike have to do with Jonathan? are 1/10th of the Polytechnics in this country government own...and among the government owned ones how many are federal? look at the level of igorance on this thread. And nigerians think the government is the probably and not them can you name off the polytechs participating in the strike? Of all of them which ones are federal? Why would a country that makes 80% of it's foreign earnings from oil and gas have citizens that question the need to build a school specialized in oil and gas? Tomorrow they will graduate with English degrees and complain about unemployment. FOOLS. |

Ikengawo: can you name off the polytechs participating in the strike? Of all of them which ones are federal?Why are you taking this as an attack on Jonathan or probably on your tribe/region. Unfortunately your basis of arguement is pitiable. First you said Jonathan has nothing to do with ASUP strike, now you said polytechnics on strike are not federal, it's quite funny how people argue blindly on what they don't know just because of sentiments. We have 21 federal polytechnics in the country, and yes all of them are involved in the strike, some just opt out recently (last week and this week). 1 Like |
