The Convict (Tanka) (Escape)

Carefully I looked
From the tinge of bravery,
I concealed my fears;
A death rope on my cuffed wrist...
Choked life off my torturer.

The Convict (Grook)

If the night was my worst fight
It'd see the tattoo of fear
On my face - so clear
That it gleams with angered-light
And a quest for peaceful vengeance -
For to love is to learn how to hate...
The paradox of life that decides my fate.
Like an innocent devil
Is one crime too much?
They say once you don't meddle
In someone's life you lose touch
Of your valued essence
My beloved city
Don't have pity
For the weak, it feeds from them...

The Convict (Lyric)

Carrying the city's credo cross
Is like basking foes and nemesis
Not exhuming butterfly smiles
Because compliance is love

I killed a man of crime mastery
He was the city's finest
He made my hands bloody
His ghost became my chapfallen company

I buried the law
That snatches my family line
As the my bore-pain reaches the abyss
In the heart of an enforcer

The Convict (Free Verse)

I heard her voguish voice
At the cave of my ear
Rasping and vociferating at top pitched echoes.
“wake up sir!”
I smelt her tidal air escaping through her warm nostrils
As she pecked me with that hurricane breathe
And the pavilioned door enveloped her…

I woke up again,
Looking lost in life
My eye sockets were heavy as rock
Each blink eclipsing flashes of blurred memories.
Sweating like I had battled a ghost,
The haunted one with grieving injuries
Before exhuming a survival moan
Into the strange air.

I watched
The lady pray to the tritheistic being
In strange but courtier tongue
For my revivification,
Her oval face stained with teary droplets
That could drown a mouse in a stoup
Her hands all raised high in supplication
Under the hottish hut that looks like a hospice
And the cloud beamed flashes of curvy lights
Variegating and threatening heaven’s peace with thunderous yell;
While the sky cried to sleep,
But she continued.

I pinned my ears out
To the audacious entreaties of
A young woman who knows not me,
A lady summoning the Supreme from his sacred abode,
For my sake,
Then I must be damned.

But
Why break a rock over me?
The Thomas in me finally twig
That between us two,
One of us is a friendly stranger.
I still can’t remember her
And she said she housed my son’s heart
Though I recall having a little boy
But a full grown lady?
As the cloud bleaches into another time
I basked away deep into the sky eye
And retired back to bed…

The Convict (Drama)

THE CONVICT
Bits by bits i watched myself broken by you,
Even the walls of Jericho would crack by your touch
Let alone me, an old broken man, caged by your love
Which pours out the tenderness and soothingness of care.
The touch of a goddess it seems, submissively my body yield
To thee whose love my heart now crave for.

YOUNG LADY
At dusk, under the soaring sapphire sky
It is my face you steal at morning sight,
While your wrinkle melt with kiddies blushes,
Butterfly smiles polish your rumple cheeks
You feel alive, young and like a conqueror,
With which your face blossom like the roses of Athens.
Is that love i see on your face?

THE CONVICT
Oh dear!
See not the garden of wool on my hair
Nor the tears that hides under my creased flare,
Your love and its absence i cannot bear
For my son's love and I you cannot compare.
If you extinguish the spark i have for you
Where else would my heart go?
When it is locked in the coop of your love.

YOUNG LADY
Ah! The heart of my heart beat!!
Why is your thought blurred with the unimaginable?
Is it the lemon grass, aloes and the dried pawpaw leaf?
Or the bitter herbs from the forest's garden of St. Paul's shrubbery?
We together is like making incense from the devil's beans,
And the sun, moon and stars would blind us for incest.

THE CONVICT
Can't I be caged with you my dear?
If your beauty would lead me astray,
If it turns me against the world again, i'd gladly beseech it dearly,
For I'd rather burn in the devil's lake, drown in its fieriest of fire
Till my breathe is whisked like the ode on a Grecian urn.
Please lock me in your heart where i'd feel safe of this world,
I wish to be imprisoned till your love sets me free.
Do not wait for my son, the law doesn't love, it only lives -
My son lives for the law.

YOUNG LADY
Please don't speak so of the love of my life
because not even the Stockholmic love i bore,
nor the affluently blessed or other audacious men,
together can match the modest nature of his love.
However, we could have one sin in secrecy
Just to test your prowess... the forth night we shall...
But please have more wine...

The Convict (Rhyme Royal)

I've lost my shadow but I am not dead,
My soul seems nake d as my body flee
From the crown of crisis around my head.
Darkness and light, both are now against me,
Shouldn't my breathe be scared of what i'd be
If my life is nothing but a mere trifle?
A hunting peg for stern looking men with rifle.

The clock has ran for a dozen month now
Since I broke-free from my captor's claw.
No love, no hate; before me are ups and down,
Face of frown, drowning dreams, a broken jaw,
A dampened heart, forlorn thought on mazing yaw
Which locks me in that sadness that fans my rage,
Blustering the embers of revenge that i wage.

Happiness has a face, I seen and worn it
Even under blemishes of worries, I grin-glee,
Now i'm silenced by the same smile my face lit;
To move on I need to put on a chameleon skin.
I've evinced my fears, no words of my family of me,
I've looked up before getting stuck on the floor
That my prayers are ricocheting before heaven's door.

My intentions are my actions with carefulness,
Scheming amid the puzzle of choice, day and night;
My imagination arms my feats of thoughtfulness:
But further thought could buy me craziness at first sight
And I don't trust myself because I have no living might
Until I decide to accept the prospects which will embrace -
My concern - my well-being, family and love case.

The Convict (Ninette)

Fate,
God's game
On mere men,
Life's on the play;
Watching as he's tossed.
"Live up your strength"
Says the heart,
Keep the
Faith!
