A governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Dr Segun Ogundimu has asked Nigerians to be wary of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking in Lagos, he said this was in view of the divisive politics of the opposition party.
According to him, though there was nothing wrong in being in the opposition, APC’s stance against the ruling PDP’s programs and policies were condemnable.
He hinged this on APC’s agenda to make the country ungovernable, saying when the country becomes ungovernable, that means whoever is in charge would lose grip.
“This fight is not against Jonathan, its against the country as a whole. Nigerians should know that the APC is not for the unity of Nigeria because it’s not their concern.
“The opposition is not sincere. Their intention is to see there is no project called Nigeria anymore, why? I don’t know,” he said.
Ogundimu however, commended President Jonathan for what he has been able to achieve despite challenges.
These achievements he stated could be seen in critical sectors, including communication, education, oil and gas, power and more.
“Nigeria has become the investment destination in the world despite our challenges. Our GDP increased under Jonathan despite his many challenges.
“Jonathan will never resign because Nigerians have faith in him. Remember Awolowo said many years ago that one day, Nigeria will come together under the leadership of an Ijaw man, Jonathan is that man,” he declared.
On his governorship ambition, the medical doctor said his aim was to give Lagosians the real meaning of good governance and freedom they were being denied by the APC.
He hinged this on the fact that Lagosians were daily harassed by different government agencies including LASTMA and KAI, while some are sent to prison on trumped-up charges
