Newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Professor Michael Adikwu, has ignored the court order restraining him from acting in that capacity, having continued to perform the functions of the varsity’s chief administrator.
Following his recent appointment as Vice Chancellor, some aggrieved members of the university community, led by Dr. Raji Rasheed, Dr. Muktar Muhammad and Dr. Nkoli Ifenyi, who faulted the appointment process, dragged the matter to the National Industrial Court, Abuja.
They claimed the appointment of the Professor of Pharmacy from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, abused merit, adding also that he was not qualified to head the university since pharmacy was not a course offered by the unjiversity.
