Following impeachment notice served on the governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Al-Makura over allegations of gross misconduct and abuse of public office by the Nasarawa State House of Assembly on Monday, the governor has been avoiding being served the impeachment notice in person as efforts made by the Clerk of the State Assembly, Ego Maikeffi, to gain access to government house proved abortive.The Clark of the Assembly told newsmen that the governor cannot continue to run from being served the impeachment noticeas he will be served through the media today.There are indications, however, that Governor Al-Makura has moved government’s arsenal to Abuja.Daily Newswatchgathered that the governor left Lafia at about 4pm without the usual blaring of siren and use of officialflag in a bid to appeal to the powers that be in the Presidency to save his job.Al Makura has been at dagger drawn with the Peoples Democratic Party-dominated House of Assembly over control of the state resources. He is now in a mourning mood, according to feelers.A source, who confirmed to our reporter, said that the Assembly has gone to the High Court to swear an affidavit that will enable them serve the impeachment notice since he has been envading to be served.Chairman, House Committee on Information and Security, Baba Ibaku, maintained that the governor knows “the consequences of involving in financial misconduct so he should stop shying away from reality but should rather come out and face the fact and the people of the state.”When contacted the Public Relations Officer of the PDP, Mark Neto observed that “if the State Assembly knows about such grievous corrupt allegations against the governor and do not act according to constitutional provisions, then they should be ready for posterity to judge them negatively.”He continued that the governor has all over the years been feeding fat from the state treasury.Immediate past state coordinator of All Progressive Congress (APC), Arc. Stanley Buba, while reacting to the impeachment notice, said that the governor should be courageous enough to come and defend himself against allegations levelled againsthim by the State Assembly.Buba who was edged out by Al-Makura at the last state congress of the party argued that such allegations if not responded to could amount to confirmation of guilt and advised that the governor react immediately.On his part, the press secretary, to the deputy governor, Joseph Danjuma denied the allegations put forward in some quarters that his boss was behind impeachment moves against Al Makura, regarding it as “false and baseless” while insisting that his principal has been away from the state for the past two weeks.

I don't know why we are crying over this. Why should we be crying for not harvesting yam when we didn't plant yam. what is going on now in the polity is child play compare to what is coming and unfortunately is we that we suffer it. Gej is definitely not the real and right answer we have been looking forward to but he did came with a one answer to changing our politics bringing about a change in our political environment by call and adhering to the rule of law and due process in all government matter. He came with a political movement that we are not ready for even the so called intellectuals are not ready for it. We are all calling him clueless, dumb, powerless, drunkard and kingdergertin president. When he gave in to pressure and sack some of his ministers and replace them with politicians I knew then we are in for a long ride. It is no more about good governance but about survival. The power confered on the presidency is so enormous that if the president should just use 25 percentage of its power the whole world will shout and call is a dictator or despot ruler. Until we take a look at our constitution and have a change of attitude we will continue to walk on this path.

We are yet to evolve 4rm politics of bitterness dt serves as d bedrock of nigerian politics. Enmity, naked lust for power and sentiment still characterize our political existence. Infractions, misappropriation and embezzlement are d order of d way.
