Nick Young is standing by his woman! The Los Angeles Lakers basketball player, 29, spoke on his girlfriend Iggy Azalea's behalf on Tuesday evening, July 15, at the ESPY Body Issue Party at L.A.'s Lure nightclub.
The event fell a few weeks after the 2014 BET Awards, when Nicki Minaj made a side comment onstage, which many saw as a dig at Azalea, 24. Minaj, who won the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist category, which also included Azalea, said when accepting the honor, "What I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj is, when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it."

While she never specified whom she was speaking about, it was widely reported as a diss to the "Fancy" rapper.
"Oh man! You know, it is what it is," Young told reporters at the party this week. "I had to deal with the aftermath when she came home."

"When she got home and was going through her phone and hearing all the things and people talking trash about her, you know I had to be there for her," the baller continued. "But you know what, Iggy is doing big things and its scaring a lot of people!"
The Australian rapper has seen a huge rise to fame as of late, claiming the top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this summer with "Fancy" and her collaboration with Ariana Grande, "Problem."

"She kind of brushed it off!" Young added about the supposed burn. "She don't let it get to her. She's number one right now so what can you do when you are at the top right now? Of course they will all come at you!"
When Young isn't on the basketball court and Azalea isn't recording her next hit single, the couple likes to unwind together.

"We will go roller skating or we will go to Six Flags, we have a good time!" Young explained. "We do down-to-earth stuff. People don’t even notice us. We will have sweats and hoodies on at Six Flags, you know we have a good time!"
