While Nyako was impeached, the latter resigned but now says that he was coerced into doing so. During a solidarity visit on Thursday by the state leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Acting Speaker, Kwamoti Laori, the lawmakers said they were ready to face any litigation.The Acting Speaker told Chief Joel Madaki-led delegation that the impeachment was to salvage the state from misrule and alleged gross misconduct by Nyako. Laori said the mandate given by the electorate was rewarded with massive looting and large-scale fraud of the sacked administration. He, however, assured the party leadership of support and readiness to win the forthcoming election.Earlier, the state PDP Chairman, Chief Madaki commended the resilience of the lawmakers despite the alleged intimidation by the past executive. He promised the Assembly total support of its activities, while urging it to continue to work in collaboration with the executive to ensure that the aspirations of the people are fulfilled. Meanwhile, acting Governor of Adamawa State, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri, yesterday dissolved the State Executive Council and all other political appointments of the former governor.A press statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Abdullahi Tukur, directed the former cabinet members to hand over all government property in their possession to their respective permanent secretaries, who will takefull charge of their ministries.The Acting Governor also scrapped the Special Projects and Programmes Unit (SPPU) created under Nyako and headed by his son.The Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Acting Governor, Mr. Solomon Kumangar, who made this known yesterday in a statement, said the directive followed the fallout of the executive briefing from Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs).
