NIGERIA EDUCATION SYSTEM - The concept learning is broad in its own definition. This is so because learning has no specified age range. There is a saying that only death can terminate a man’s ability to learn.

There is one important character worthy of note in the learning process. This is the Learner himself.

A learner is one who desires a change in behavioral terms. Someone who undertakes a permanent change in behaviors There is no age limit to who a learner could be. Even if the person is a day old in the womb of the mother or as old as Methuselah.

Learning could be seen as a relatively permanent change in the behavior of an individual which have resulted during or after a teaching experience have taken place.

Again it has been seen as a change which has resulted from ones interaction with his environment. E.g. manipulation of objects, reading and writing. Learning is observable and could be said to be incidental.

Well, in all of these, learning cannot be said to have taken place or occurred due to some forms of illness, drugs or fatigue.

Learning is a change in human disposition or capabilities during or after a teaching experience has taken place.

The conclusion is that learning is evident in behavioral change during or after an effective change has taken place. For effective learning to take place in an organised education institution, there are some important factors which are responsible. They are

The age of the learner.
The school environment.
Classroom management.
Psychological factor.
