After an early morning attack on Friday in which 45 people were killed with houses , shops, offices and vehicles set on fire , the Boko Haram terrorists have mounted their flags in Damboa town of Borno state, declaring the area its exclusive territory , Premium Times reports.

Soldiers have not returned to Damboa after their military base there was attacked by the sect about two weeks ago. Residents in the area say that after the soldiers fled, the terrorists took over the highway leading to the town . Damboa local government shares a boundary with Sambisa forest , the terrorists' hideout , so it was possible and easy to carry out that kind of operation .Officials say that the death toll have increased although the casualty figures are uncertain . A top security official in Maiduguri also confirmed the Damboa attack and said flags suspected to be those of the Boko Haram sect had been hoisted there.

A member of the civilian vigilante group even revealed that there was no single person in Damboa as he was informing news men then except the militants .

Due to the hoisting of flags in Damboa by the terrorists , residents of Dile, Huyum, Lassa, Murtavu, Rimirgo and some other remote villages in Askira Uba local government area are fleeing their homes and moving into Uba town in droves as the information reached them .

Security officials told reporters that the residents decided to flee following a threat letter sent to them by the Boko Haram sect that they would soon be attacked.A member of the Vigilante Group, Civilian JTF, Abbas Gave, said,

"The people are all fleeing in response to a letter purportedly sent to those villages that they would also be attacked. So residents of about nine major villages are now on the run."

But where are those soldiers that operated during the Ekiti election, this is where they are needed to come and display their skill or are they on preparation for Osun election? It seems they are trained to suppress the opposition parties and intimidate electorates for easy rigging for people destroying people (PDP).

I came here to see a picture of Shekau hoisting the boko flag with his lieutenants sorrounding him and reciting some portions of the qu'ran.

Reading this post...i cast my mind back to when the Governor of Borno State stormed aso rock months ago to give clues to what is happening with the military and boko boys. I could remember 3 points he made then. he said:

1. Boko Harams are better equipped than our military.

Evidence: Despite initial gra-gra and barking from presidents aids and co; months latter, the same government is seeking for a loan of $1billion to upgrade her equipment to fight boko-haram.

2. Boko Harams are better motivated than our military.

^^^I'm certain that as the cowardly soldiers took to their heels, they must have been cursing the terrorists for spoiling their 'hustle' and been in unanimous agreement that this certainly wasn't what they signed up for! They must have thought a career in the army was a walk in the park and all about planning coups, becoming military governors, and collecting bribes from pipeline vandals and illegal refinery operators in the creeks!
