smartchoice: Interesting indeed so not all infected died? So how did they survive?

To explain.....it is all in the immune response.

The immune system response in infected people is different. While research is still ongoing, it appears that people who...

exhibit(ed') more significant IgM responses, clearance of viral antigen, and sustained T-cell cytokine responses, as indicated by high levels of T-cell-related mRNA in the peripheral blood.

are more likely to survive the disease.,while those with

Increases in the levels of inflammatory cytokines IFN-γ, IFN-α, interleukin-2 (IL-2), IL-10, and tumor necrosis factor alpha

were more likely to die.

In other words....the way your body's immune system responds to Ebola determines whether you live or die. Immunity varies from person to person. (That's why the human race cannot be exterminated by just one disease).

More research is still going on
