I don't know if it's just me or my slapdash manner-""gemini"" kinda way of reading.. Find it so hard to interpret what I've read in my own kinda language... Even though am left alone to read . After reading i tend to forget easily most things from the passage I've read.. And it bugs me a lot. Please need your help. Wha' am i gonna do to alter this crazy act of mine. Cause our exam starts tomorrow... *totally not an exam fever*

Don't just start cramming cos it will make the matter worse for you. After reading, you can try setting sum questions for yourself and see how you will fare.

Heyyoo..

You can take notes as you read.. And read those notes you made.. Pray before reading too.. If you feel you have forgotten anything, go back and read it again..

Even if you don't understand it, the uhmmm.. Pictures would continue playing in your mind..

If you're doing calculations, solve many questions.. Even solve examples.. They'd help..

Wishing you success in your exams!!!!

Read over and over again then summarize what you've read in your own language. Next time always read before its test or exams.

ok bro...it happens

to start with , what kind of stuff are you reading ? mind you , reading & studying are different things

Is it theory course /subject or calculation related .?

sorry to say , i could perceive some percentage of miss-placed priority & laxity towards your studies , you've been having this problem since but probably didn't apply drastic measures to remedy the issue , only for you to create a thread seeking people's advice just because you're having exams tomorrow , ? for heaven sake you are not a computer that will just store everything you read at once ,

you/others in this category will have to learn a lesson from this , though i will give some tips that could be of help to you now or later .

our brains varies , (as in IQ) the way i assimilates is different from yours .

CASE 1:
For theory subjects/courses ( though i kinda dread some , love calculations more ) , get your updated lecture note start going through from beginning , you may not have to read everything line by line , get a jotter write down all topics treated for that semester /term , then for each write down key sub-topics , definitions of terms , laws & theories found in your " correct " updated note . then study & memorize them , you may not need to read every detail ( time being short , & you gat others waiting ) . then go through all assignments, test questions & past questions on that subjects /course , now without checking your books , try to answer the questions from the assignments , test questions or past questions after which you can check your note-book /text book to see the ones you got right or failed . same applies to others . also recall things your lecturer /teacher said during classes ( hope you attended all your lectures & listened attentively while in class ) .

CASE 2:
For curses involving calculations , you could use some idea from case 1 above . however , you will need to learn & memorize formulas & also apply all in solving different problems , solve all examples /exercise given by your lecturer & make sure they're correct , you could do this with some of your class mates ( good & serious ones oo) then you practice on your own ( as that will boost your confidence & enhance your skills ) then keep practicing on & on & on . don't be lazy or procrastinate unnecessarily
, also try tough questions from text books .

Now to your main question about quick forgetfulness or assimilation , its possible

*) you study where there is much distractions

**) you study at an in-appropriate time when your brain best assimilates

***) you use drugs /take some stuff that hinders sleep for some while

****) you watch too much of indecency ( pornography )

*****) you are suffering from psychological imbalance ( otherwise spiritual influence )

Now honestly ask yourself if you are victim of any of these then change from them & do the supposed ..

also study to learn not just to pass

exam is not really a true test of knowledge rather a test of how well/hard you prepare for it .

anybody can pass any exam & any body can fail any exam ( solely depends on you ).

hope this helps .

You don't just read because you have exams. Read extensively. Develop your reading culture. Make it your food.

Once you're done with lectures for the day, you've got nothing else to do. The question is, where and how do you spend your time? Is it on girls? Sleep? Or nothing but lengthy conversations with friends?

A normal student would take reading as a boring stuff or should i say less important activity. If you're really bright as you stated up there, after your lectures, you'd surely get back to the topics you learnt earlier on and revise continuously with the kinda brain capacity you've got.

Make several researches about the subject and study other but similar materials. Use the library more often than usual. Get a friend who could help you with your lapses.

Play brain games. Get questions online and from different educational websites. Free your mind. Socialise but make it moderate. Eat rightly and perform exercises.

Ask questions when you're not clear enough. In a nutshell, you have to start thinking differently and forget about enjoyment when you're in school. Make an extensive timetable of all your activities. Where you're gonna be and at what time, should be entailed in it. Act like a student and there's nothing impossible. Relax yourself while reading and forget thoughts outside your study. Do this with handsome carefulness.

Take out time to read novels and ebooks from experienced writers. Use the dictionary but wisely. Study English with keen interest and understand how words connect.

Try these and see how it helps.

Oh! and don't forget.

Get your butt up and

PRAY!
