Governor Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa State on
Monday morning appeared before the seven-
member panel set up by the Chief Judge,
Suleiman Dikko. The panel is investigating the
16-count charges of impeachment levelled
against him by the State Assembly.
Mr. Al-Makura, who arrived the sitting at about
9.12 a.m. waited for over 30 minutes for the panel
members headed by Yusuf Usman to arrive. The
members were yet to arrive as at the time of this
report.
The governor arrived with a large entourage of
political appointees and a member of the state
assembly representing Keffi-East, Othman Bala
Adam (All Progressives Congress, APC).
Twenty (Peoples Democratic Party members) of
the 24-member Assembly are believed to be in
support of the impeachment of Mr. Al-Makura,
who is a member of the APC.
