A Lagos doctor who treated the Liberian man that died few days ago of Ebola Virus has tested positive to the Virus, Nigeria’s Minister of Health said on Monday.



Late Patrick Sawyer flew in to Lagos en-route a trip to Calabar for an official assignment but fell ill in the aircraft.

The Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, also said that eight persons that had first degree contact with the Liberian before he got to the hospital had also been quarantined and are under strict observation.

Just imagine the sacrifice the doctor made and tomorrow johesu members who aside the nurses don't come close to patients would want to be at par with medical Doctors.
Am sorry colleague, it's the price we have to pay and the sacrifices we have to make as medical personnels

On a lighter note : in light of the recent scare of ebola in Lagos I'm therefore using God Almighty who created heaven and earth to beg everyone wey im name get 'ebola' inside e.g. Adebola, Okebola, Orebola, Oyebola, Ojebola, Otebola, Debola etc not to attempt to shake or hug me till further notice. Na GOD I take beg o!.....

This is a no laughing period over the dreadful Ebola virus... Its time to purchase a hand glove and world war II nuclear mask. I will personally outlaw hand shake, mama-puht, unnecessary hugging and kissing. Etc.

The hospital in Obalende is on lock down with some people inside..I wonder if they are part of the quarantined staff.

Also, a lot of spraying going on in a hotel in my area with people in white jump suits and vehicle labelled 'Ambulance'. I refuse to scared.

A government that gives no form of protection to its healthcare workers,
no post exposure prophylaxis to HIV, having to pay for hepatitis B and
yellow fever vaccine in the same hospital where u work and get exposed
to these hazard, no life or professional indemnity insurance despite all
these. Hazard allowance of 5000naira across board!! May ThUNDER
