BetaThings: This story has been making the rounds before now but nobody officially reported it

Eyewitnesses also confirmed to Amnesty International that the videos were taken on 14 March 2014, the day of Boko Haram’s attack on the military detention centre in Giwa Barracks in Maiduguri. Boko Haram forces reportedly released their members and told all other detainees to either join them or go home.

After Boko Haram had left the town, more than 600 people, mostly recaptured detainees, were extrajudicially executed in various locations across Maiduguri.

The detainees in the video were rearrested by the CJTF in Giddari Polo, near the Barracks, where various sources have confirmed that a number of them were shot and killed by soldiers after being handed over to the military. The military then took the corpses and the detainees to a location outside Maiduguri, near Giddari where the executions are reported to have been carried out.

The slitting of throats happened on the day that BH attacked a Nigerian Army Barracks and released many prisoners
BH took away its own members and asked non-members to join them
The non-members refused to join BH
Then Civilian JTF rounded up those former detainees and handed them over to Nigerian Army (JTF)
Nigerian Army proceeded to kill all of them

Was it right to kill people who refused to join BH after they were released by BH?

If the above is truly the source of that video,
Its quite a shame that a so called disciplined outfit like NA will resort to barbarity, no matter the provocation,
Gone are the days when extra judicial killings is the order of the day!
No wonder the western armies are finding it difficult working with us,
We have lost a lot of men in this war, we should not also loose our heads!
Going this route will raise more foot soldiers for Boko haram and alienate the army.

Sincere9gerian: Propaganda alert!

APC e-goats, supporting and solidarizing with Boko Haram since 1804.

The irony is that these are the same bandits behind the hypocritical bring back our girls campaign.
You truly believe that amnesty is on the payroll of APC?
That the two faked the videos?
What should the Odi people say if we said that their claim of brutality by Nigerian Army during Obj's regime was propaganda

We are in a political era
But God is not asleep!

Do you seriously mean APC is also trying to make Cameroon ungovernable?
That APC is also using Boko Haram to forment trouble in Cameroon

BTW the grandfather of Boki Haram - Modu Sheriff - is now in PDP
Isn't Modu Sheriff a "Northern Elder"?
Isn't "the fight against terror" now compromised?

Bokoharam often wear Nigerian military uniforms. This is how they've managed to massacre so many villagers. Bokoharam showed the world a video of themselves slicing the throat of a supposedly Nigerian Pilot. They've strapped bombs to girls and little children, nothing seems too heinous for them. You guys have seen how suspicious forces have sent Nigeria Ebola by plane, you have seen the eagerness of the Western press to lump Nigeria among the Ebola group of Nations. Given all of this, does anyone actually believe the so called Humans rights verdict on Nigeria. Who gathered these so-called evidence for Amnesty, have you guys actually checked their nationality?

At this stage, given all we know about the media and our African neighbors, the international community, Bokoharms terrorism and depravity, there should be no doubts in our minds that Bokoharam are the ones in those videos that Amnesty is trying to pass as Nigerian soldiers.

We need to create that river around Nigeria, I'm telling you. Laugh if you want but its possible. The money we spend on creating these lakes will be as nothing to the disaster waiting Nigeria if we leave our borders open. Nigeria needs a fortress mentality for there is no hope for the majority of African nations. Nigerians are lucky that they have Nigeria but don't know it yet until it is too late.

Abuse of human right is common about troop so also is the killing of civilians either suspect of aiding the enemy, collateral damages. Some times this actions are deliberate to show power. The problem begins with the methodology use in training soldiers

Here we go again, solicitor. You lot are hellbent on killing the little morale our security forces have been able to muster, you plans will fail and you shall be shamed.

Why would someone re-post a video that has been in circulation for over 3 years and make events look like they just happened? The person definitely has an ulterior motive. By the grace of God, all detractors of the Nigerian state shall be put to shame.

The fact that the pics are a billion years old makes it right or that it didn't happen and your military didn't commit murder?

What's next? Speaking out against corruption in Nigeria means I'm anti Nigeria right?

I mean, how hard is it to differentiate between right and wrong?

I know you people are very unintelligent, but the added stupidity, ugly and corrupt mentality gets nauseating by the minute?

You have called it (the video) wrong for more than 3 years and a particular scene in that video actually happened in another country - Does that make you any intelligent?

Does that not sell you out as someone with an ulterior motive? Do you think everybody think with their anus like you do? When next you are going on your usual campaign of propaganda and outright lies, make sure you get people than are more sensible than yourself to vet the propaganda, comprendre?

You mean your own fellow countrymen are dispensable and must be needlessly killed but the same people charged to protect them unless BH stop killing the same Nigerian civilians?

So, with BH and the Nigerian military slaughtering innocent Nigerians, please tell me the difference between the Nigerian military and BH.

And what barracks are they withdrawing to? The same barracks they willingly surrender to BH free of charge along with their weapons?

It's really not hard to figure out why Nigeria is so effed up, it's full of mentally dark and warped people with zero sense right and wrong.

Nigeria police chief admits extra-judicial killings

Abuja - Nigeria's new police chief said on Monday the force has carried out extra-judicial killings, detained innocent people and lost the public's trust, among the frankest ever admissions by a top police leader.

"Justice has been perverted, people's rights denied, innocent souls committed to prison, torture and extra-judicial killings perpetrated," Mohammed Abubakar, who was named to the job last month, said in an address to senior officers.
