O’odua National Assembly (ONA)

The O’odua National Assembly (ONA) is a popular, plural, revolutionary, liberation and intelligently-democratic movement working towards O’odua Nation becoming a truly independent African State.

The ONA was officially established in June 2014. It is not a party and does not wish to become one. It is an association of citizens who participate freely as individuals and as a united front for the independence of O’odua Nation. What unites its members is the conviction that O’odua Nation has a right to its own voice in the world. That is, to become an independent state.

The ONA is a popular movement which, alongside other civil society organizations who share the same vision and mission, is leading the process towards the creation of a new O’odua State.

The ONA is in no way a public institution or a corporation. It is not a parliament or a political party. It has no interest in participating in electoral processes. It works at a grassroots level, with the aim of building up even further the social majority that is committed to the independence of O’odua Nation and increasingly tired of an inward-looking, discriminatory, corrupt and colonial Nigeria. The ONA promotes wide-ranging initiatives and encourages the O’odua citizens not to deviate from the mandate of the independence of O’odua Nation.

The ONA sprang from the realization that Nigeria is incapable of addressing the O’oduans’ aspirations and demands for self-government.

O’odua Nation is a nation with a rich and vast history going back to tens of thousands of years. Ooduanism – the political expression of the O’oduans’ will to exist – has for decades tried to modernize Nigeria, to adapt it to global humane standards and to achieve a comfortable recognition of our political and cultural reality.

These efforts have multiplied enormously since the end of the military rulership. The emergence of the so called democracy has further seen our people and lands exploited, destroyed and enslaved within the geographical expression called Nigeria. All these have made it clear to us today, that the independence and self-rule is our only viable option, out of dignity, pride and service for our lands and people. This is the desire of the vast majority of O’oduans within the entity called Nigeria.

Today the ONA is a fundamental tool of our strong desire for self-determination and independence. The O’odua sovereignty movement is open to all O’oduans, regardless of their places of birth and region/country of residence.

Although the Assembly is a new platform, it has deep roots; deep roots in our culture, history and race. Once we were an independent people; a people who contributed largely to the world’s civilization vis science, mathematics, spirituality, morals, technology, language, medicine, architecture, governance, family and a host of others.

The ONA works from the grassroots up with the sole vision and mission of an independent O’odua state. The ONA is in no way under the leadership of the present day so called leadership. Majority of our so called leaders have failed us and sold our present and futures for their personal gains.

Our leadership has over the decades destroyed, looted and corrupted our lives and lands. They have acted and they still act to this very day on their own selfishness and greed. They have shown that our lives as O’oduans mean nothing to them. They have treated us as bargaining chips in their quest for glory, power and wealth in the colonial sham called Nigeria. We, O’oduans, have come to realize that for our future to hold strong and have any meaning we have to arise and stand for ourselves, as those before us have betrayed us grossly and further brainwashed us into the lie called Nigeria.

Telling the world the political and economic facts about O’odua Nation.

At the ONA, we would like everyone from within and outside the façade called Nigeria to get to know, with due rigor and transparency, why tens of millions of O’oduans want to peacefully exercise their right to decide their future, like other nations such as Scotland and Catalonia.

Ome... You must be really hurting. If they are such coward clowns with coconut heads, why so spend so much time on them? Why get so much interested in what they do?
Your reaction is quite ironic and hilarious to say the least. Thanks for stopping by though. smiley

Gradually Nigeria is becoming abandon project but if the three major tribes are saying they are better of as a sovereign nation is the marriage necessary any longer?
But until it happens we will remain patriotic to the marriage.
