The Ebonyi State chapter of the All
Progressives Congress (APC), on
Tuesday, called for the
impeachment of the state
Governor, Martin Elechi, over
alleged incompetence, gross
misconduct, reckless borrowing,
loss of focus and abysmal
performance.
Briefing journalists in Abakaliki on
the prolonged crisis rocking the
state House of Assembly and
Elechi’s performance, state
Secretary of the party, Bernard
Ebele, said the most eligible
person to be impeached is the
governor.
According to him: “The members
of Ebonyi State House of Assembly
should stop victimising
themselves and come together to
enact laws that would move
Ebonyi State forward. The most
eligible person to be impeached is
the governor of Ebonyi State”, he
stated.
“The axe of impeachment should
descend on Elechi for
incompetence, gross misconduct,
reckless borrowing, loss of focus
and abysmal performance”.
Ebele said governor has imposed
starvation, taxation, deprivation
and victimisation on the people of
Ebonyi State, adding that for over
seven years, the governor has not
completed and commissioned any
single project.
“Ochudo City is yet to be
completed. International Market is
yet to be completed, likewise
Oferekpe Water Scheme”.
In a related development, the
state Police Command, also on
Tuesday, said it does not yet
recognise anybody as Speaker of
the state House of Assembly.
The Police Public Relations Officer
(PPRO) of the command, Chris
Anyanwu, told Daily Independent
that the police were waiting for
the position of the state
government on the matter.
He explained that the police are
providing security for everybody in
the state including the two
persons laying claim to the post of
the Speaker.
Some lawmakers of the 24-
member House of Assembly, on
July 21, announced the removal of
Chukwuma Nwazunku as Speaker,
and his replacement with Helen
Nwobasi, a development that has
thrown up confusion as to who
should be regards as the Speaker

Hilarious in the sense that APC hardly exist in Ebonyi State, in Rivers State, we have 6 vs 24 lawmakers drama which APC e-goats has been making fun with.
Now we're having a situation of ZERO vs 24 lawmakers. Isn't it hilarious.

It's hilarious my brother, APC that has been behaving as if impeachment is satanic simply because it's currently ravaging their states. For sure, Ebonyi may not be in top ten in terms of development, not necessarily because of bad leadership but iow revenue Profile of the state. The governor is trying his best in rural development, employment generation through agriculture, infrastructure etc. Mods should move this thread to joke section please.

How true is the 7 yrs and no project completed or commissioned ?

You know that can never be true when considering the fact that lies is Apc's most potent weapon. Check the way APC is making noise that Jonathan has not done anything in last three years despite his achievements in agriculture, education, aviation, railway, sports, youth empowerment, road infrastructure etc, you will know that those APC guys are struggling for attention. Not every state can afford media coverage like Akwa Ibom, Rivers state and Imo.
