TO contain the spread of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria ( FAAN) and Federal Ministry of Health Wednesday screened inbound passengers with ‘Infra Red’ equipment at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

Meanwhile, Southwest governors Wednesday put their political differences aside in a bid to forge a common course to stem the spread of the disease.

Rising from a closed door meeting at the State House, Alausa, Ikeja , with commissioners of Health in the zone,the governors also called on the Federal Government to assist by way of ensuring all borders in the Southwest region are effectively policed to ensure that the disease does not get into the states from such areas.

The governors who attended the meeting included Governors Babatunde Fashola(Lagos) Olusegun Mimiko (Ondo) , Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti) and Oyo State Deputy Governor, Moses Adeyemo

Fashola said the meeting afforded them the opportunity to share their experience and seek collaborative efforts and ensure that all hands are on deck to prevent an outbreak of the virus in the region.
