Osun Gov Poll Loss Painful – Presidency by isi4(m): 9:28pm On Aug 10, 2014
The Presidency on Sunday said it was painful that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party lost the Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State to the All Progressives Congress.

Special Adviser to President Jonathan on Political Affairs, Prof. Rufa’i Alkali, said this while conducting a facility tour on Goodluck 2 Goodluck () 2015 Project national headquarters in Abuja.

He said. “Today we would have celebrated Osun victory. It is however, a very painful day for us because the PDP candidate and the party had completed their home work and we know the people of Osun are tired of what is happening in the state, but here we are.

“I hope the APC, which is in the habit of complaining of having security agencies in ensuring enabling environment for election and is consistent in controversy and rejecting election results, will reject this Osun state gubernatorial election result.”

He however commended Independent National Electoral Commission and the security agencies for the roles they played in delivering a credible election in Osun.

Speaking on the groups canvassing for the reelection of President Jonathan in 2015, the Special Adviser said “Since assumption of office, we inherited 3,000 Goodluck Support groups, some have been existing and some are new, and we felt it is only those that are serious, and that we know each and every one of them, in faces, not only on papers, know what they can do and how we can collaborate with them.

The national coordinator of and former governorship candidate of PDP in Edo state, Gen. Charles Airhiavbere (retd.) vowed that President Jonathan would return in 2015.

“Our target is 50 million volunteers to mobilise so as to ensure that President Jonathan wins in 2015,” he said.

Must really be painful considering all the crude strategies employed in stealing the state.

Shameless bunch of thieves milking Nigeria dry since 1999. If not for how we Nigerians are naive and gullible, people like you lot should not even have the courage to come out and campaign let alone winning votes.

Better you guys begin to do programs that will benefit the masses. Otherwise you all will be kicked out very soon one way or the other.

And for the huge security apparatus put in place, we know that it was anything but for good intention. Or how do you explain the arrest of about 100 people belonging to opposition camp between the eve of the election and the election day using masked men.

In Osun, you guys were put to shame. And so shall you be put to shame in any future election where you plan to intimidate, harass and arrest opposition members.

Their pain is nothing compared to the pain felt by millions of Nigerians since 1999 that the PDP has been in power.
Failed promises of power improvement
Failed promises for security
Failed promises for an end to corruption
Failed promises of improved health care
Failed promises of an improvement in the nigerian education sector
Failed promises of an an overall improvement in the quality of lives of all Nigerians.
Please Prof. Alkali keep your lamentations to yourself!

PDP under GEJ has been more matured than APC or PDP under OBJ.
Maturity is not about old age like our old politicians its your ability to accommodate others and know that you cannot have your way always.

It seems that failure tends to be more public than success. Or at least that’s what we perceive it to be. We fret it, we try to avoid it, and we question ourselves every time we have unconventional ideas. But the simple truth is – no great success was ever achieved without failure. It may be one epic failure. Or a series of failures – such as Edison’s 10,000 attempts to create a light bulb or Dyson’s 5,126 attempts to invent a bagless vacuum cleaner. But, whether we like it or not, failure is a necessary stepping stone to achieving our dreams. bt in Nigeria political framework especially the PDP.failure is deir reward for continually stepping on the toes of the masses.oh God pls dis quote “Failure isn’t fatal, but failure to change might be” – John Wooden.

Useless Special Adviser.... Were it not for the resilience of Osun vores and APC your party would av stolen the mandate. Were it not the intimidation of Osun voters that forced some of them to stay indoors, the margin would have been 400k plus. We await you guys in 2015 polls

aadoiza: The people are gleeful but the presidency is mournful

The sourcebof your pain is very clear you allocated part of the stolen $20 billion to the Oshun project amongst which was the huge money given to the commisioner of policw on ground which he foolishly was.sharing thus ; spos #50,000 inspectors / Rank and file #30,000 unfortunately they were did not do your dirty job and that type of fear was why Obasanjo created the now armed civilll defence to.prosecute his third term agenda thwt failled succesfuly so you kust pained between now and 2015 better begin to thnk of polause another option because they police could diisappoint so you better buckle up on the duties Nigerians gave you to do andstop story telling about opposition. Oshun is not a killers den take Omisore to Bayelsa as governor no qualms .

Not only pain, headache follow.or if is a wound just go and buy plaster to stop expose your wound to people because this is Ebola time for your party.Don't you know that we yorubas we have know all your strategy of using security to suppress voters but it can never work again. You have used it in Ekiti and it works for you but come 2015 you have less security agents to use because the election is through out the nation.APC has come, change has come.
APC surely will bring Nigeria into limelight come 2015 because Nigeria has been in darkness since PDP come into powwer in 19999.
