If you want to surprise you Boss on his birthday you can give him a bottle of wine or champagne with HIS photo in it. Write on a wine label anything like "Together we will win" or " glorious victory is waiting us" or " Grait path to a grait ship" . I am sure he will be happy to get such personilized unique gift and understood you are one team. We will put HIS face in that picture.
