Creating the SIMPLE smokey eye

There are various ways to achieve a smokey eye effect and contrary to popular opinion, without the proper technique it can just as easily go wrong.

So here are 4 steps to achieving a very simple smokey eye look which can be worn anywhere:

1. Line your upper eyelids (or the entire rim of the eyes) with a black pencil
2. Using a pencil brush or a stiff shader brush, smudge the liner upwards towards the crease of the eyes (or downwards as the case may be)
3. Intensify the colour with a black powder eyeshadow
4. Finally, use a crease brush to blend out the edges of the shadow

And you have your simple smokey eye

Deep Set Eyes – Eyeshadow, Eyeliner and Eye Makeup Tips for Deep Set Eye Types
Looks when you have eyes that are deep set
When applying makeup for deep set eyelids, your objective of using eye makeup is to make the make them appear to be advancing. You should create this illusion by using warm colors especially metallic hues and beige on your eyelids. We are going to look at eyebrow makeup, eyeshadow makeup, eyeliner makeup and eyelash makeup or mascaras for eyes that are deeply set.
General Tip – When applying makeup for deep-set eyes, ensure you consider the other eye features you have as well as what you would like to diminish most. If you have small, big, round, upturned eyes, etc. you need to decide which of these features you would like to hide and choose makeup application accordingly. Your other facial features, skin colors and eye colors should also be taken into consideration when deciding the eye makeup color to use if you have eyelids that are deep set.

Eyebrow for Deep Set Eyes
Your eyebrows can have an impact on the way your eyes look. For instance, creating more space under your eyebrows only helps in making your eyes look more recessed as well as give you a permanent surprised look.
Furthermore, a sharp arch might make you look artistic but sad. Always go for an eyebrow shape that compliments your face shape and avoid creating too much space below your eyebrows. You can also help define or fill your eyebrows using a good eyebrow pencil or eyebrow tints or powder.

Eyeshadow for Deep Set Eyes
When using eyeshadow, you need to be able to both get the correct tone and balance it well to ensure you are looking fabulous. Also, go for the correct eyeshadow brushes that will make the application much easier. Here are the steps for applying eyeshadow for deep-set eyes:
Once you have cleaned your face and applied an oil free moisturizer, you should apply under eye concealer to hide any fine lines, under eye wrinkles or dark under eye circles, you might be having as well as reduce the shadow cast by eyes that are deep set.
Apply eyeshadow base and eyeshadow primer on your eyelids to create a canvas over which you will apply your eyeshadow as well as intensify the eyeshadow color. See more on best eyeshadow primers and eyeshadow base and their roles.
Apply a light shimmery eyeshadow all over your eyelids from your lash line to just below your brow bone using a flat eyeshadow brush. Also, apply this eyeshadow on your inner eye corners. This will help create an illusion of advancing eyelids hence diminish the appearance of deep set eyelids.
Take a mid-tone eyeshadow, sweep it on your eye creases, and blend it upwards to your brow bone. Most of the top makeup artists recommend the use of matte eyeshadow. This will make your brow bone to appear to be receding and hence reduce the appearance of your deep set eyelids.
Apply the darkest eyeshadow shade on your outer eye corners of your upper eyelids upwards to the outer brow bone area.
When using eyeshadow, you can use a shimmery highlighter on your inner eye corners. However, ensure you do not apply it on your brow bone, as it will make your eyes to appear more deep set.
Eyeliner for Deep Set Eyes
When applying eyeliner for deep set eyes, you need to apply a thin line along the lash line but slightly lift it up as you approach your outer eye corners. Applying thick eyeliner line will make your eyelids to recede, something you do not want. You can use your darkest eyeshadow as eyeliner on your lower lash line beginning from your outer eye corner and letting it tapper as you move towards your inner eye corner.

Mascara for Deep Set eye
People who have them tend to have their eyelashes touching eyelids. When applying mascara for deep-set eyes, ensure you apply about two coats a good waterproof mascara while putting more emphasis towards your outer eye corners. Before you apply mascara, ensure you have used a good eyelash curler to curl your eyelashes. See more on best eyelash curlers.
Beauty queens like Kim Kardashian always ensure she has made her eyelashes magnificent to help bring here deep eye out. You should apply a few coats of mascara, use fake eyelashes, eyelash extensions or fiber mascara.

Marvelous makeup tricks for Deep set eyes

1. USE EYESHADOW PRIMER

Want to make sure that you keep all of your makeup on, especially that prized eyeliner and eye shadow? Eye shadow primer is the way to do it! Just dab a little bit of this stuff along your eyes, rub it in and I promise, your makeup won't go anywhere! This eye makeup trick for deep set eyes can actually work with any eye type, any time that you are really trying to make sure that your makeup stays put!

2. COVER UP ANY DARK CIRCLES

If you really want your deep set eyes to stand out beautifully, you've got to cover up all of the dark circles that you have. Concealer is a great way to do that! For me, I just put a little concealer on before my foundation, but after my primer, blend, blend, blend and then add on my foundation. It gets all of the dark away from my eyes and just highlights! This is an essential makeup tip for deep set eyes!

3. APPLY THE LIGHTEST SHADOW ALL OVER

Did you know that you can actually make your eyes appear less deep set by applying the lightest shade all over your lid? Just take your eyeshadow brush, dip it into your lightest shadow and swipe away! You'll see just how much brighter your eyes become and how beautiful they look! Remember, coordinate your colors to enhance your eye color!

4. COLOR THE INSIDE CORNER OF YOUR EYES

Along the inside corner of your eyes, make sure that you drag the lightest color there as well. That way, you can really highlight every single bit of your eye and you can really draw out the color. This technique draws attention to your eye color instead of how deep set they are. This makeup trick for deep set eyes is an essential one if you want to enhance your pretty peepers!

5. APPLY DARK COLORS ALONG THE OUTSIDE CORNER OF YOUR EYE

Don't worry, you can still pull off the darker colors, you just want to apply those to the outer corners of your eyes. This will draw out your color and truly make sure that everyone focuses on that, instead of the deep-set portion of your eyes. So experiment with all of those blacks and navy blues, just make sure that they are along the outer corner!

6. COORDINATE EYESHADOWS

Remember when I talked about coordinating eye shadow with your eye color? Well, you also want to coordinate your light shadow colors and your dark colors. For example, if you are choosing a pale pink, why not choose a darker pink for the outer corner of your eyes?

7. POWDER

Finally girls, don't forget to powder it all up and lock in your makeup completely. Using powder can actually set your makeup so it stays all day, plus it can buff away any imperfections that you might have on your face. This makeup trick for deep set eyes can really be used for any eye shape, so remember it girls, even if you don't have deep set eyes!

No matter what type of eyes you have, these makeup tricks for deep set eyes truly do work to enhance your eyes and draw them out a bit. Remember, this is not an imperfection, especially if you highlight your eyes to their fullest advantage. So girls, what other makeup tips for deep set eyes do you have to share?

Moisturizing your skin is a wonderful way to remain looking young and have soft skin as well. Even if you have oily facial skin, be sure to use a moisturizer, even if it’s only a little each time.
