Toibat123:If truly you told the VO that you will be getting married in March, then you have to hold on and re-apply on April. |

Toibat123:Just looking at what you said. Most of the decision on USA visa is made when the VO reads your application and before they ask any questions. I would suspect that your finances and links to home did not convince them that you will return home. In making a decision the USA presumes that you are trying to immigrate unless you convince them otherwise. Ties to home are what you need. Leave from a job, family (children) buisness or managing property are good. Single un-married and low cash are not good. |

DARKLIGHT: Try to get your school to let you start later sometimes they will give you a couple of weeks. Then work hard to get your visa (Christmas holidays now) Other than that you are waiting till fall and need a new I-20 |

Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by Classicalmusic: 6:03pm On Dec 24, 2014 |
DARKLIGHT:First, get at least 2 weeks letter of extention from the school and then request for an expedited appointment. If your appointment is within 12 days to the expiration date of coming into America, I think you're fine. Even that, you could still write to the school so as to enable you come in on Fall after procuring your visa. So be ready to speed up this process and good luck! Hope you did well in standardized tests. Pray for luck! |

Classicalmusic: Thanks, Man! So I should send a mail to the school today 'cos holiday commences tomorrow? I did not score well because I was buried in work during the period I wrote the exams. Toefl: 85: GRE: verbal; 145, Quantitative; 151 and Analytical Writing: 3.0. But like they said there is no excuse for failure. |

DARKLIGHT:Yes do that quickly and notify them that the date of the letter of extension should please start from January 6. So 6+14=20. So January 20 should be your final date. Just explain properly to the VO with regard to your result, you will be fine. Ask God to send His Angels unto you for a successful interview. |

I had to pray and fast(7days), well I needed to involve God in it,because even all the knowledge on this forum can fail you but God would never fail, on the 3rd day God already answered and showed me through a night vision, on the 7th day he also confirmed it through Isaiah 43:26b" Declare thou , that thou mayest be justified"( in other words- that thou mayest be seen eligible for VISA), So I started quoting the scriptures. Some of the scriptures I used were : Deut 31:6&8, Hebrews 13:5&6,Prov 21:1, Psalm 34:5,6& 7, Is 41:10,Psalm 102:13,Is 26:8&9,Jer 29:11,12&13, Is 49:15&16,Psalm 5:11-12,Ps 34:7,Ps 84:11&12 ,James 1:17,Is 50:7, Psalm 118:6&7, Rom 5:2,Lk 18:27, Matthew 19:26, 2kings 3:17, 2 Chronicles 14:11 The word works wonders!!! Try it Fast forward , Today 6:30am appointment ,My bro dropped me off at the venue in Lagos, Yh I was looking fresh and dapper with my Suit( Please wear whatever increases your confidence level) After passing all the security checks, I sat down with other applicants , I was so nervous! chai, so I decided to take a short nap while waiting for interviews to start, I woke up again and started quoting scriptures again ,Well that is what God told me would justify me , people around me were looking at me as if I was running mad(well I dont care , na only me waka come o) Suddenly , I heard my number ,My ears stood up like those of the german shepherd, Well I had faith in my heart , but doubt was in my heard .... VO: are you Mr XXXXX Me : Morning ......Yh ( whispering Thank you Jesus) VO: so you are going to Texas? Me : yes , exactly( Whispering Thank you Jesus) VO : so How did you find out about the school Me : I did extensive research on the internet and I consulted my senior colleagues in the oil and gas industry(Whispering Thank you Jesus) VO : so what did u do your undergraduate in? Me : sorry , come again VO: what did you study for your undergraduate degree? Me: Bachelors in engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering (whispering Thank you Jesus) Vo: looking through the details to confirm consistency Vo: between when and when Me: with Hand demostration, 2006 to 2011( whispering Thank you Jesus) Vo: who is your Sponsor Me : My Mum (whispering Thank you Jesus) Vo what does she do Me :She owns an Hospital and She is the managing Director of Emes real estate Service VO: typing plenty ..............Me: I just dey whisper Thank you Jesus with plenty faith VO: turn and drops my passport and brought ne white paper to the window saying sth about pick, I will give you your I20 back , you will need to take it along wen you travel I did nt hear what she was saying because I was too excited. I just packed my load , turned and said Thank you Jesus ALOUD It was Divine favour ..... 7 Likes |

dcutey:A VO could argue you don't need a grad degree in physics to know this. I'd err on the side of brevity and avoid being drawn into a long winded response in the interview. I'd simply say a physics grad degree would give me more credibility in the industry: amongst my peers/ competition/customers. |

I was surfing d internet, saw dis and decided to share it for does of us still planning for obamaland.... The cost of the study per year (Tuition and fees, does not include living expenses) in USA varies from $5000 to $50000 (might be much more too for MBA/Medical or other programs) per year. The cost of living depends on the location. For example States like Washington, California and area around New York is costly. In general cost of living for students from countries like India, Bangladesh, China, Taiwan may vary from $6000 to $14000 (per year). It is assumed that students will live in shared apartments, live out of campus and have less telephone bills and other expenses are at bay. Most of all expenses can be met while working on on-campus jobs. The hourly pay for on-campus job varies from $5.15 to $15 per (sometimes it may be $20) hour. Foreign students can work for 20 hrs per week and 40 hrs per week during summer. Students may be allowed to work out of campus (internship) after nine months(2 semesters) of their arrival at USA. Students receiving any type of aid like TA/RA/Fellowship or GA need not have to worry about costs. Students not receiving any kind of aid must be prepared for tuition fees and living cost for initial 2-3 months (also please note : getting on-campus job might take some time.. earlier you come the better). Also note that in some universities like University of Missouri-Rolla and University of Texas Arlington there is huge shortage of P/T jobs. So students planning to go to these universities must either have Scholarships or adequate Funds. It's better to contact current students via email for latest information. For many universities students can pay the fees of their last semester even after graduation. I hope it helps... 1 Like 1 Share |
