Mike Ezuruonye is a Nigerian actor. He received two nominations for Best Actor in a supporting role and Best Actor in a leading role at the African Movie Academy Awards in 2008 and 2009.


Mike was born in Lagos on the 21st of September, 1982. He is the eldest of four siblings.

He attended Federal Government College, Wukari, Taraba State (former Gongola State), Arch Bishop Aggey Memorial Secondary School, Lagos State and later went to Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka, Anambra State where he obtained a degree in Accounting.

Mike has shown interest in acting right from his elementary primary school days; he was fond of writing scripts and working behind the camera.

He had his major movie break by chance; he was spotted by one of the Nollywood’s finest movie producers- Ruke Amata. Amata spotted him buying fuel at a filling station in Lagos but it was movie director Dickson Iroegbu that actually game Ezuruonye his first movie break “Broken Marriage”

Mike’s first movie was titled “Broken Marriage”. He became a household name with the movie ‘Critical Decision’ which was not only a huge commercial success but also revealed his talent home and abroad.

His rise to stardom was very quick as he started his professional acting in December 2003, and has currently acted in over 80 movies.

He got married in 2010 to Nkechi Nworom (See Wedding Pictures). Nkechi is a medical-psychologist based in Canada.

Mike and Nkechi met during a movie shot in Abuja and the union was made official on the 13th November 2010. The wedding which followed was one of the classiest in the history of Nollywood- See Pictures.

They have a son- Reynold, born on October 1st 2011.
