Hi u all,

Lets us all put here all the educational resources we come across.
I am sure you all (esp those in the west, like myself) come across numerous
opportunties in the academic sphere.
This will be of great help to those who back home (esp the sisters!).

We all need a bit of a bush on the road for a purpose driven life,

For the sisters:
I. Quick Guide: Funding for gender issues is declining in almost all development

For all:
1. Scholarships for MA students from Africa
- Deadline 1 March 2007 -

In close cooperation with Leiden University, the African Studies Centre
offers a two-year Research Masters in African Studies (MPhil). The
degree qualifies graduates for further research in academia at PhD
level, or for positions in policy-making and/or in management, for
example in the NGO sector. More information is made available on our
website www.ascleiden.nl/research/MPhil/

For this Research MA in African Studies we have been looking for
scholarship options for African students.
It turned out that African students are only seldom eligible for
scholarships. However, very recently the NUFFIC decided to change these
criteria for the Huygens Scholarship Programme (HSP). Eligibility is no
longer restricted to certain nationalities. Moreover, tuition fees are
included in the scholarships.

Since the new criteria were formulated only recently, NUFFIC will
accept applications as late as March 1.

Prior to the application, candidates must have been admitted to a study
programme in the Netherlands. Persons who want to compete for this
scholarship in order to participate in the Research MA in African
Studies should apply NOW.

Application forms can be downloaded from:
