Bama:death Toll Rises To 130, 35 Insurgents Arrested by emmatony: 4:32pm On Sep 02, 2014
By Michael Olugbode

The Borno youth vigilantes popularly known as civilian JTF Tuesday dispelled the rumor that the Boko Haram insurgents have taken over the control of Bama town.

They said instead it was the group that suffered a massive casualty in the attack, losing 130 persons with 35 others arrested and in custody.

At a press briefing in Maiduguri, spokesman of the JTF who is also the legal, Barrister Jibrin Gunda, said: "we categorically refute the statement credited to Senator Ahmed Zanna, the senator representing Borno central on BBC Hausa service that the Boko Haram have capture Bama.

“News has filtered most especially on foreign media to which we want to clearly state that  our security personnel  are doing their best and yesterday our gallant soldiers successfully repelled the insurgents who attacked Bama and Bama as a town in Borno State has never been overrun or overtaken by the insurgents even for a minute, even as of now our soldiers are in full control of the town”.

Why do they even bother to arrest these mad men, they have no value whatsoever, they cannot give you any meaningful information, why arrest them only to be wasting government money to feed them. They are like viruses, the only way to deal with them is to eliminate them.

it is quite pathetic how we unconsciously support boko Haram by our utterances and false information . It is also pathetic how our journalists via media houses give credence to false information.

what happens to investigative journalism? All these arm chair journalists simply "copy and paste" unsubstantiated information from foreign media houses. Our journalists should be held responsible for giving boko Haram unsolicited publicity, thereby sending shivers to the populace.

What happens to giving a balanced account of every story instead of being sympathetic to the boko Haram course? Why must BBC (Hausa report) and Sahara reporters always quote the likes of senator Zanna, El Rufai and co as their source? Is there any conspiracy theory here?

The opposition is the one clearly fuelling this falsehood. They don't see anything good in this administration.
We must win this war against the insurgents by all means.....media wise, assault wise, combat wise......any which way.

Nigeria must "know" peace again. Nigeria will survive this crises.
Nigeria - good people, great nation.

Marshal law should be applied to Borno state, with full military order.

Decrees shall be declared andd people who go against it should be summarily dealth with via court marshal.

Jonathan should use his powers if he wants to survive, because if Nigeria is not safe he is not.Jonathn should remember that many Northerners are not happy a Niger Delta man is in power and this people are drunk in this ethnic bigotry-they forget ll their people being murdered, decrees should be enacted by the command via the administrator and anyone who goes against it dealt with via military courts...careless statements like this demoralises Nigerians, our military and props support for boko haram-this has a direct impact on the on-going war, such people know what they are doing.

Mr Goodluck Jonathan pls do the needful, this is full invasion-but they are small,if the right thing is done. We are a strong people,wiser-tougher and this is our land.
These guys are just suicide cowards.
