A 31-year-old man, Wasiu Ogunnoiki, has been arraigned before a Magistrate’s Court in Sagamu, for allegedly posting negative remarks about the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun.
Ogunnoiki, who was arraigned on a two count charge, according to the charge sheet, contravened Section 249 (d) of the Criminal Code, volume II Laws of Ogun State, 2006.
He was alleged to have written on his Facebook page that Governor Amosun demolished houses in the state without compensating affected property owners.
The accused was also said to have written on his page that the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in Sagamu Local Government, Femi Felix Kafar, has dumped his party for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Ogunnoiki, a commercial motorcyclist in Sagamu, was further accused of inciting people of the state against the Amosun led administration.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges and Chief Magistrate Ojo granted him bail in the sum of N400,000, with two sureties in like sum. The matter has been adjourned till December 5th.

He was arrested for posting misleading information that wl likely confuse or incite the public against the government. Its a crime in itself. But the sake of ignorance(though not an excuse) the Attorney General should have mercy but ask him to tender apology on his fb page

Oponu, there is a difference between misleading the public and calling Jonathan which u goons regards insulting. How many have been arrested for calling Buhari bokohaari? What about aregberascal?
If none then why should those that call Retardeeen Egbere Jonathan be arrested? U don't sound smart at all.
Again, with just one post from demdem, kindly refer to where he mislead the public.
Oponu, Jonathan till ur early grave.

If you are trying to justify the guy's arrest on the ground of misleading and name calling, then the media houses should also be arrested for publishing misleading stories. Please, amosun should interfere and get this guy released so as not to soil his good name.

The law was passed in 2006 when Gbenga Daniels of the PDP was governor

Not surprised PDP has always been a demonic party anyway

Amosun should repeal such law that stifle freedom of speech

Forget about the Umbrella and vote GEJ for second term.

The Freedom we enjoy today is because of the tolerance level of the present Administration at Federal level.

The Governors, Council Chairpersons, Politicians and other highly placed individuals are just enduring the criticisms because the No 1 citizen accepts them as part of democratic rights of the governed though some people are abusing the very sense of the right.

How can we forget about the same umbrella that has destroyed the country for the past 16yrs

Add 16yrs to your age and see how old you would be. Thats exactly what PDP has wasted in the average Nigerian life. The earlier we get rid of them the better for our nation

I need him back for the reason he is out of favour with power brokers and have only one option left - he is now bound to listen to public outcries and consequently seek legitimacy from the people thereby entrenching a formidable Democracy that is irreversible and not dependent on who succeeds him later.

Tyranny!
Oppression!
Intolerance!
Simply issue a rebuttal setting the records straight other than punitive actions.

He currently has no godfather, yet his incompetence has c in c is world class.
He may desire the good of Nigeria like many of his predecessors but it's not in him to grant such.
Stop being gullible.Jonathan is empty governance wise.

Chief Ngwakwe, there is no way you can separate Umbrella from Jonathan. Jonathan is the Leader of Umbrella. Jonathan himself is a "good man" but HIGHLY incompetent. PDP as a party symbolizes anything evil, death and suffering. The best is to get them kicked out ASAP
