Don't be fooled -- while Joan Rivers' unfiltered brand of comedy didn't always show it, the legendary entertainer had a heart of gold. Rivers died Thursday in New York City, daughter, Melissa, confirmed on the comedian's website. The 81-year-old had been rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital on Aug. 28 after she stopped breathing during throat surgery at a nearby clinic.
