Phew! Phew!!!   Please tell me I'm not doing this again  Hehehe I am  This chat thread is open to my e-buddies only. If I follow you, you are one. Even if we don't follow each other, you'll intuitively know you're one or have become one. For meaningful and objective discussions (God I miss that guy, EbullientV). Especially for non-personal entries I make on my diary. Talks on personal stuff is allowed too (to a certain degree). Perhaps one might feel the need to clarify on a topic of interest, or just ask honest/objective questions........ Insults and any form of vulgarity isn't for this one. (Please respect that). I'd like for this thread to be an embodiment of peace, serenity and a hide out of sorts, (from the craziness out there) - and FUN too!  If you feel like you need to talk or just hang out.....I'm a mention away. You're the reason I'm here. We could do off topic discussions here too. What's your take on feminism and the reluctance of Nigerian women to adopt favorable feminist principles (e.g. marriage as equals) that could go a long way in redefining their worth? |

If I get you correctly, you perceive women as liabilities who advocate equal rights with their male counterpart and at the same time aren't as willing to sacrifice as much as the man ordinarily would, especially in the area of finance and other male - ish duties. I for one don't believe a person's worth is summed up in what they do or do not. Y'see, I've never taken a conscious interest in feminism, I find though, that the few people I've come across, who adjucate this subject matter, have this inner desire to be treated like they matter, they want to be seen and heard too. They desire to explore the many opportunities out there, to live their lives to the fullest, albeit married, without being judged as promiscuous and irresponsible. It has become the bane of a typical african wife to endure any kind of treatment her typical african husband mets on her, afterall, "she is a woman" I think that, this clause @TheEmboldened is what feminists try to debase/debunk. That said, I admit that there are extremist feminists, by their fruit, you'll know them. As for me, I'll see my husband as the head, and I as his neck. We're equals. We're indispensable to each other. It boils down to mutual understanding and respect. I could go on, but this should suffice, I think.  2 Likes |

@ MizMyColi Not exactly what i was expecting. No, i don't see them as liabilities. I just think they are hesitant, these supposed feminists, in walking the talk, even when it could be hugely beneficial to the plight of a million others. But i don't really agree with you though. Some of them don't exactly desire to be married. I get your point. And i think i have quite a fair understanding of your own position. |

Thank You @goofyone You do be right though. There are those who abhor the idea of marriage. The long and short is, I'm not actively interested in the topic (strange huh?). Many people hide under that cover and wreck irrecoverable havoc(s) to otherwise peaceful homes, all in the name of women emancipation  |

@MizMyColi Actually strange, given what I thought of you earlier. There may be those who use these ideas for selfish interests, but then tasteless hijackers have always used good ideas to better their own situations. That's normal. That, however, does not remove from the beauty of selfless feminist principles. What are your interests anyways? |

Good... Am here right on time .. #taking the front sit... I'm having a problem with why ppl of dis era boast on their potentials/attributes... Instead of their attributes speaking for them, I discovered ppl are now speaking for d attitude... I bcum uncomfortable when my cousin was blindly arguing with his friends that he remains the best organist in the whole region..... Ppl now boast of dia beauty, riches, power, e.tc.. Plus... I'm I the only one who wished the world should be rewind to around 1859, or 1900... Like most eventions are beginning to make me sick..... Gudmorning |

Hi Dayjhihannon01 Good morning Y'see, I believe that some people are naturally inclined to be boastful (we all are, to some extent). There are those who can't feel alive except they talk about their achievements and highs. They're simply being highfalutin. But love them anyway and give them grace. There are those too who are excessively humble (talk of humbility), I find that annoying, but I'll love them anyway and give them grace. Our generation keeps wishing for the old days when those in "that" day looked forward to better days. We have to accept with all our being, especially with our mental faculties, that we are in the now, we gotta live in the now. We can start by individually realising and practicalising this truth: We are the change our world needs |
