Mimiko Is Welcome Back —ondo PDP by Rapsainot(m): 1:15am On Sep 09, 2014 |
FOLLOWING the resolve of the Ondo State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), leaders and members of the party in Ondo West Local Government Area of the state have declared their support for the move, saying he would be welcomed with open hands. Passing a resolution accepting the governor as leader of the party in the local government, the people said his return would further boost the chance of President Goodluck Jonathan and other contestants during the forthcoming election. The leaders at the meeting held at the party secretariat in Yaba, Ondo state, included Chief Segun Adegoke, Dr Temitayo Fawehinmi, Chief Olabisi Johnson, Mr Ademola Adeyemi, Captain Ademola Ariyo (retd), Mr Patrick Sekoni, Honourable Bola Ogundele and Honourable Ayo Akinfolarin. The resolution presented by Adegoke said the people were ready to work with the governor and members of the Labour Party (LP) when they eventually joined the party. Adegoke said “Ondo West Local Government Area welcomes the governor wholeheartedly; we are happy that he has joined us. His name is Omowalepada. He was once of us and has now returned. “He was one of the PDP leaders in Ondo Kingdom; he was secretary to the state government and minister of the Federal Republic under the party before he joined LP to realise his governorship ambition.” The former commissioner in the state explained that Mimiko’s return to the PDP would be an added advantage, as he had won all by elections held in the state so far for the LP during and had also won the second term election for himself. He, however, said members should shun factions and groupings, as that was one of the albatrosses of the party, saying once they remained united, the old members would be able to benefit from the government and the party. source: http://tribune.com.ng/news/news-headlines/item/15541-mimiko-is-welcome-back-ondo-pdp |
