Revealed: No Ebola Case In Rivers State, Doctor's Case Was Conspiracy! by 1MCN: 11:37am On Sep 09, 2014
There's a growing and disturbing revelation, or may be rumour, in Rivers state that the story of a doctor who was said to have contracted and died of the deadly ebola virus disease in Port Harcourt was all lies and conspiracy. Late Dr Samuel Enemuo was said to have secretly treated a patient, an ECOWAS Diplomat Ibukun Koye of the disease in a hotel in Port Harcourt, and Mr Koye survived while Dr Enemuo died of the disease.

Recent happenings and information flying around the PH city have thrown up some very curious questions: if Enemuoh died of EVD, why did it take the govt days to come up with that, why is it still unclear whether Enemuo has been buried or not, why is it that no one closest to him has been confirmed a victim of the disease, why did the govt claim that the wife had tested positive and has died while indeed the woman is alive and healthy?

People are now demanding that the dead remains of Enemuoh be subjected to thorough, independent post-mortem to ascertain the true cause of his death as the man is believed to have been murdered with food poison.

A lot of people on the streets of PH believe that all the hoax was for political reasons. Some say that the scare was to deter the TAN group from holding their proposed rally in PH on that week end.

I personally found it too difficult to understand the logical possibilty of the conspiracy as a colleague in the office who is a strong, card-carrying member and supporter of the APC in Rivers state told me this yesterday. But it became all the more disturbing as I went into a govt Commission's office this morning at Trans-Amadi for a local business and heard exactly the same story. A phone caller into one of the programmes on Nigeria Info PH radio station who called at about 10:49 this morning echoed similar verse.

If this conspiracy is anything to go by, then both Federal govt and the Rivers state govt would have a lot of explanations to give to the people of Rivers state and Nigeria. It's important to know that the Rivers State governor was the only state governor in the country who did not attend nor send a representative at the health emergency meeting some time ago held by the president and the minister of health on this EVD situation in the country.

This EVD issue is too serious for us to introduce such conspiracy theories. Lets just do whatever is necessary to flush it out of naija. Period

Question no.1...Did Mr. Koye Olu-Ibukun have any contact with Mr. Patrick Sawyer?

Question no.2....Did Mr. Koye jump quarantine in Lagos and ran to Port Harcourt to seek medical help from Dr. Enemuo?

Question no.3....Did Dr. Enemuo treat Mr. Koye in PH for an unknown ailment?

If the answers are yes, then the conspiracy theory being peddled is the Invention of the enemies of Nigeria.

The kind of politics we play in Nigeria stinks... Since the birth of the 'opposition' in Nigerian politics, common sense has been eroded with political sense which isn't too far from plain stupidity. Every single issue or occurrence is now seen through the microscopic prism of politics.

You see, I've been saying this for a while now..

Patrick Saywer, Ibukun Koye and ECOWAS were running some kind of operation in Nigeria.
Those calling for Koye's head are wasting their time, the man is being shielded by the diplomatic community. He and his ECOWAS bosses obviously have a case to answer.

I doubt we will get any answers though..

Lies from Rivers PDP.
Unfortunately for them, the FG through the FMOH,WHO representatives, Volunteers from MSF and other volunteers from health workers from Rivers state have been part of the fight to contain the spread of Ebola in Rivers state.
Has'nt the minister of health be giving updates, was he not in PH to see things for himself?
Did'nt the doctor test positive? Was the test not carried out in Lagos? Na Amaechi do the test?
Did'nt the doctor have contact with an infected person? Is his wife not being treated for ebola in Lagos?
If it is a hoax like Rivers PDP and other gullible Rivers people like you want us to believe, why have'nt these other agencies spoken out.
Shame on anyone trying to politicise ebola.

Thank God you mentioned Fed Govt.
This conspiracy theory is easy to prove, is'nt it?
We all know the federal govt is not on the side of the RS govt, so let the minister come out to say it was all a hoax.
Until then, stop peddling false stories unless you want ebola to visit you.

The way all things are now politicised in the country baffles me. It is as if we have never played politics before, as if we have never had political parties before. We, as a people need to tread cautiously because after the politicians would have set us all up against ourselves, they will still meet at their discreet places to klink their glasses of wine.
Re: Revealed: No Ebola Case In Rivers State, Doctor's Case Was Conspiracy! by 1MCN: 4:08pm On Sep 09, 2014
This information was shared so that Nigerians who have richer source of information regarding the EVD situation in Rivers can share their knowledge, and not to either promote one political party over another. We have no need to insult or bully another. Last week the press confronted Dr Sampson Parker, commissioner of health in Rivers state with the fact that they visited the said Ebola Isolation centre in Emouwha and not a single person was found there. I have personally not visited the centre.

We must always, dispassionately, demand the truth from our govt at all levels. The govt must clear its name against the allegations or rumours levelled against it.

We must stop spreading fear and panic. EVD is real. But what is more real is the mischief of our ruling class.

A friend who stays close to the hospital attested to the fact that is a conspiracy. She said that the hospital and the hotel is still open till now while the Rivers government said they are closed. The aim was to make TAN cancel it's rally.
