If politics is equivalent to lunacy then campaign periods are like full-moons that fuel hyperactivity in lunatics. Yes, Nigeria has always had robust electioneering but Nigerian Elections 2015 is turning into butt-naked lunacy. Our 2015 national elections is shaping into the Night of the Long Knives. Plots and determination to dislodge a current occupant of Aso Villa must not stop Nigerians from caring about what Nigeria would look like the morning after national elections.

Ugly senseless rage fills the air. Truth and objectivity have died in the hands of delusion and primitive extremism of saying the most outrageous things about opponents. Facts don't seem to have any effects. Personal blogs are paraded almost as divine truth despite that blogs are mere [electronic] personal diaries. Conspiracy theory is the new political industry. So many theories are so crazy and laughable you find yourself pitying anyone who believes they would bring new voters beyond those who need no further reasons to keep hating whoever they already hate. There is NO denying that things are tough in Nigeria: the economy is still on the wrong track. The unemployment rate is still unacceptably high. Politicians are still behaving like blind primitive tyrants and many leaders live like Pharaohs, as if they are deliberately mocking our poorer citizens.

But to speak as though all these started with President Jonathan is wrong. Mr. Jonathan inherited a Nigerian economy already damaged from decades of bad national planning, military interruptions of democratic growth, systematic looting of the national treasury, a highly politicized military, beggar State Governments that rely exclusively on FGN for survival, an unsustainable bureaucracy and our nation's irresponsible exclusive reliance on oil earnings. Google "corruption in Nigeria" and you will get 95,300,000 hit "links." Our rot is ancient and deep.

Any commander-in-chief must continuously safeguard our national security and Mr. Jonathan must work harder. But let's STOP pretending that YESTERDAY did NOT influence TODAY. NIGERIA'S PROBLEMS DID NOT START WITH PRESIDENT JONATHAN. MOST OF THE PAST PRESIDENTS WHO PUT NIGERIA IN THIS TRAGIC ECONOMIC MESS ARE STILL ALIVE. Inventing juvenile conspiracy theories about someone who bested you is a pathetic way to dealing with electoral loss. It is an unproductive way to deal with our collective helplessness/inability to hold our political leaders accountable. This has been going on since Nigerian independence. WE MUST STOP pretending that our immediate past leaders were so great and wonderful: THEY WERE NOT. THEY ALL MISMANAGED NIGERIA. MANY ARE BILLIONAIRES who can't publicly account for how they made their ($)billions.

Who is to blame for our current tragedy? Take a mirror. Look. Answer.
*
Why do we celebrate Boko Haram "victory" over the Nigerian Military?
Why do we accuse our military of genocide for fighting back against BH?
Why can't we separate hatred for a president from Nigerian Presidency?
Vote for APC. Vote for PDP. Vote for ZZZ but please SUPPORT Nigeria.
Continue with your crazy conspiracy theories but support our military!!!
