In response to an article by Nobel
Laureate Wole Soyinka, titled
''Wages of Impunity'', former Borno
state governor has accused the
distinguished Nobel Laureate of
Cultism.
Click here to read Wages of
Impunity
During an interview session with
PUNCH, Sheriff who spoke
through the Commissioner of
Information and Home Affairs
under his administration, Mr.
Inuwa Bwala, said, " As the ‘cultist’
we know him (Soyinka) to be,
being the founder of a
confraternity for which the world
is still waiting for answers from
him, he is the least morally
qualified to speak on the alleged
involvement of any Nigerian in
whatever crime.
"We challenge him to name this
person he says he knows as a
sponsor of Boko Haram in the
Central Bank, if he is as patriotic as
he claims to be. We also challenge
him to prove to Nigerians that he
is not the cultist we have always
known him to be.
“No security agency anywhere or
an individual who claims to have
investigated this matter
independently can dictate to
Nigerians or our security
personnel what to do about this
Boko Haram menace. Therefore,
this needless diversion is
unwelcome.”

The Ex Governor forgot to add "An internationally respected Nobel Laurete and an advocate for a better Nigeria".

Meanwhile, the Ex governor is most likely a looter and conducted the interview in Hausa language.

Though common sense which is not always common with the mad OL' profesor No terrorist group will ever mention their sponsors or their benefactors
Methink the blood of over 30,000 young nigeria that was been spilled by the introduction of occultism in our uni and poly has been making the mad O' profesor foo.lish and st.upid.

We have always known the fact that Soyenka was a common cultist who is responsible for the deaths of very many young under graduates and graduates alike. Soyenka does not have moral high ground to accuse nor criticize anybody because his evil introduction to this country is worse than any evil plaguing us today as a country.

In a saner clime Soyenka should be in jail for bringing cultism into Nigerian universities..

Seriously, s7upidity is very rampant and high in this Country and they wear it with pride.

With all the information available on the reason why Wole Soyinka started a Fraternity (Which a lot of foreign institutions also have).....(Also somthing I've known since I was like 8yrs old), some people still choose to wallow in the mud of s7upidy since they've chosen to align with it.

The One Soyinka introduced to Nigeria has resulted in the death of thousands of youths, before he introduced the pirates whatever there was absolutely nothing like cultism in Nigerian schools.
Soyinka introduced cultism to out institutions of learning.
End of!

'the pirates' created by wole soyinka and other bright students had a cause:

1. Gather the brilliant ones
2. Study together
3. Organise tutorials and make money from it
4. Enjoy life with ladies, wine and parties (remember the kegites?)
5. Set up a union for protest against wrong treatment from the administrations.

Not a time was the school compelled to think twice abt their impact as it was intellectually motivated and it promoted nuttin but good will.

They started wot u do today as 'tutorials' in higher institution and they support good cause.

This was in line until ur brothers decided to start theirs in unical, uniben, uniport and other eastern universities. They were further held down by the fetters of greed from the politicians who saw them as tools for thuggery!

Whatever evil perpetrated by other nonentities who saw 'cult' as an opportunity to be a thug is not the problem of the ol' proff! At least, the kegites are still enjoying, and the tutorials are still benefiting the sensible ones.

Long live the proff!
May your haters die in slow mo'..

Wole Soyinka and his 6 friends introduced a confraternity, not a cult. I wonder why some of you are so particular about him. Muyiwa Awe, an emeritus professor of Physics in UI, is one of them.

As much as i do not subscribe to Wole Soyinka's idea of labelling some Nigerians sponsors of boko haram, simply because a political mercenary from Austrialia said so,i also find it detestablel how supposedly educated people still can not diffrentiate between fraternities and cults and also ascribing it to occultism.Though i understand that politicians play on the masses ignorance inother to put across a point,i have waited with bated breath for people to prove that 'Pyrate' which Wole Soyinka and six other notable Nigerians such as Ralph Opara,Ige Imoukhede,Sylvanus Ogbeche etc brought to the then university college Ibadan, has a history of violence but that they cant prove rather they keep refering to the pseudo-fraternities in Nigerian universities, whom some of their founders may have their inspiration from the tyranical military government of that time.
i checked the pyratical creed online or motto and it reads 1.against convention,2.against ethnicity,3.for humanistic ideals 4.for comradeship and chivarly.
And i concluded that these are truly the challenges Nigeria is faced with and if Nigeria can work with this creed, then our society will be better for it.

IF u refuse to ask God for wisdom in how u live ur life, u most likely will behave like the Prof. The prof accused sheriff ignominiously ( whether true or false ) not minding the fact that he had a past that kept some unlucky people in their early graves through what was termed 'pressure group' when he held sway.
The so-called pressure group grew outta control and became a monster up untill these days. I'm sure he shud be regretting his action considering the amount of crime and human destructions that followed his creation if he's morally upright as many had claimed. Now, no matter the lenght he goes trying to justify the introduction of pirate fraternity, he will neva be forgiving by a people of hindsight...
Same thing is applicable to sheriff and all who had supported bokoharam from the outset. Both MEN are guilty as charged in my opinion.

The dude you replied is very shallow with limited knowledge about issues and things outside his immediate environment in Anambra.

To him, any Yoruba man is automatically an enemy, he has obviously carried his squabble with some guys here to his real life dealings, refusing to draw the line between offline and online relationship.
