FRSC to enforce use of speed limiters

Bukola Amusan

From June 1 next year, motorists are expected to have a maximum speed limiter device in their vehicles, to reduce crashes.
Stakeholders spoke at the weekend in Abuja in a communiqué at the end of a one-day forum on the “National Policy on Maximum Road Speed Limiter for Vehicles”.
Speaking with reporters, the Corps Marshal and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi, said the commission was empowered to apprehend anyone who violated the speed limit.

Another MASSIVE payday for the FRSC 'stakeholders'! Have they already finished digesting all the billions made from new plate numbers and drivers licences? They will not stop milking us until we stop acting like cows. Does anyone know of another country where the police fail to do their work but insist on vehicle owners fitting expensive devices into their vehicles? We just keep setting new records for mumuness.

Can never work in Nija. Let them concentrate on better things than this nonsense. So FRSC wants me to drive between 80 to 100 km when i can gladly do up to 140 or more on a Mercedes Benz ride huh Well, they want to create another avenue for egunje.

I believe this news is a joke. Why does it have to be the motorist who should install the device is their cars and not the police or frsc officers like you have in other countries? This is a big joke. I think the government has stopped funding this frsc of a commission and left them to generate their own funds, hence, the different masses-em-burdening projects they keep embarking on.

People need to fight against this. The people running the commission are too daft.
Re: FRSC To Impose Speed Limiting Devises On Nigerians by codeworks(m): 2:09pm On Sep 15, 2014
Can only work if we have reliable national database such that if you want to renew your car or driver license you need your National ID. Can work if fully implemented. Is a welcome development

Retarrds!!!!!

Looking to open another window to extortion.

If anyone on this thread has ever seen FRSC enforce speed limits before, please raise you hand!

How many Nigerians even know the speed limits on the roads that constitute their daily routes?
Has FRSC been kind enough to post speed limit signs on all streets?
...

So they go from lack of enforcement to mandating that we have another bulllshit equipment that they can check for when you are stopped, just like fire extinguisher.
Re: FRSC To Impose Speed Limiting Devises On Nigerians by bitterpenis(m): 2:10pm On Sep 15, 2014
SMH It can only reduce the impact of crashes and not stop crashes
Re: FRSC To Impose Speed Limiting Devises On Nigerians by Ukutsgp(m): 2:11pm On Sep 15, 2014
it will help to reduce accident. but the road in Nigeria are nt up to standard.
Re: FRSC To Impose Speed Limiting Devises On Nigerians by Richy4(m): 2:13pm On Sep 15, 2014
It will be cool if it's applicable to the Governors and their convoy, the ministers and their convoys etc.
No one is above the law I suppose

armed robbers are always "FAST AND FURIOUS" so sometimes there is "NEED FOR SPEED". so its either they beef up security on our roads first or we push this idea back
