CONCEPT:
Intelligence as a concept is a term that is difficult to define, which can mean many things to different people. In fact, it has divided the scientific community for decades and controversies still range over its exact definition and form of measurement. Conceptual intelligence together with knowledge is power. What good is knowledge if you do not know how to apply and measure it?
The measurement of intelligence is dogged by controversy and disagreement and there are number of different methods for measuring intelligence but the standard and most widely accepted method is the IQ TEST measured as:

Mental age / Chronological age * 100

Mental age as a concept in relation to intelligence is the age at which a child is performing intellectually.

Chronological age on the other hand, is the actual age of the individual taking the intelligence test.

Individuals rarely perform equally well on all the different kinds of items included in a test of intelligence. Test of intelligence itself comes in many forms or question, example include, the Peabody picture vocabulary test (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peabody_Picture_Vocabulary_Test) which requires inductive reasoning. By convention, overall intelligence test scores are usually converted to a scale in which the mean is low.
