Jose Mourinho has been able to demonstrate that better players mean better sides, which they showed spectacularly in the 4-1 thrashing of Swansea. When Mourinho took over Chelsea last season, it was cleat that he identified the weakness in his squad early and attempted to rectify them quickly. Now he has been able to show why Arsenal will never be great.

He demonstrated his lack of confidence in Fernando Torres, who had cost £50 million and was a favorite of the owner Roman Abramovich, when he wanted Wayne Rooney Manchester United to lead his attack and placed Juan Mata to the substitutes bench. Juan Mata had been twice player of the season at Chelsea but he was highly regarded.

While many questioned Mourinho's Ruthlessness, the team beautifully demonstrates its advantages. Chelsea's boss though wasn't able to get Wayne Rooney, he got Diego Costa who has been spectacular since his arrival and he also got Cesc Fabregas' who is outperforming Mata efforts at Old Trafford.

In Arsenal, we look at Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck.
Ozil like Mata can be a great midfielder, but he offers neither speed nor goals as his strongest suit, rather a kind of enigmatic guile. Ozil fails to offer the decisive contribution to either Aaron Ramsey and Alexis Sanchez. Welbeck on the other hand, is neither an out-and out striker nor a constructive wide player.

Mourinho knows what he wants from his team but refuses to tolerate anything but efficiency (note his strop when Oscar attempted to score with a back-heel rather than a straightforward shot) while Arsene Wenger continues to indulge inefficiency hoping they will become effective.

So will Wenger put aside his personal feelings and create his next great Arsenal side or will he continue to indulge inefficiency, as he has for the last decade.
