First Republic Minister of Aviation and chairman, Reparation Committee of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Mbazulike Amaechi, has claimed that the late Brigadier General Benjamin Adekunle famously known has Black Scorpion, had deep hatred for the Igbo and fought them with bitterness during the Biafra-Nigeria War of 1967-70.
Amaechi while reacting to Adekunle’s demise, said that though it is against African culture to speak ill of the dead, the deceased put aside every rule of engagement and fought the Igbo with uncommon hatred and wanted to annihilate everything that had breath in the region.
Chief Amaechi said, “He ordered that anything that moves in Igbo land and part of present Delta State, including trees should be killed. He went to hospitals and killed health workers and patients.
“He committed great atrocity against the Igbo and most Igbo would not forget him in a hurry, but as I said, it is now history”, he told The Sun in an interview.
Speaking further, Amaechi said he met the late soldier at one forum and reminded him of his evil deeds against the Igbo during the civil war, who he said was sober and expressed regrets over his actions and apologised.
Chief Amaechi said the N2.4 trillion reparation the five South-East states and Igbo-speaking Delta are demanding the Federal Government to pay them was part of Adekunle’s evil against the Igbo
