Both are not neccessarily the same. A person can be a designer but may not know how to sew. What they do is that they come up with concepts of styles that get transformed by a tailor. A tailor can also be a designer 1 Like |

Designers put their dreams and imaginations on paper tru drawing and sketching, or by the use of CAD(computer aided designs) etc, tailors bring d designs to reality by selecting a suitable fabric, cutting, sewing etc. Most designers don't even have much knowledge of sewing, dey just sketch and take to their manufacturers, though its always good for a designer to have little knowledge of sewing. Now, we tend to mix d two up too much in Nigeria. Even the road side tailors call themselves designers |
