TEL AVIV, Israel - Israel shot down a Syrian fighter jet after it entered the country's airspace on Tuesday, an official said. “A Syrian aircraft infiltrated into Israeli airspace. The [Israeli Defense Forces] intercepted the aircraft in mid-flight, using the Patriot air defense system,” an IDF spokesman told NBC News, adding that the plane was thought to be a MiG. "The circumstances of the incident are being reviewed.” An unidentified Syrian military source described the shoot-down as an act of aggression, according to Syrian state TV.

This is the first time that Israel has intercepted a Syrian aircraft since 1989. The official Israeli policy is not to interfere in Syria's raging civil war, but officials have warned that anything that crosses the border will get shot down. A drone from Syria was shot down on Aug. 31 and shells from the fighting in Syria periodically land in the Golan Heights.

That's is not totally true,the "Golan hight"is an occupied territory which is not recognised by either Syria or United nations.

with what will you shoot them down catapult I guess. Tanzania has one of the best Air defence capabilities in Africa we have Eypt,Algeria. Even Chad has multirole combat jets. We don't. Our last Alpha(outdated avionic) crashed in Adamawa we don't have even s300 not to talk of patriot missile our air space is not secured

2 chad has attactive 4 gen Su's it will use to cause damage on Nig ,NB am only using Airforce
