Google saved me N20,000 today. Was driving some weeks ago and noticed the aircondition light of my car was blinking and the AC was not cooling again. I put it off and on again, it worked for a while and started blinking again .

I went to a guy who was recommended as an AC specialist. He checked and said it was the compressor, that he would try to see if he could fix it but most times it is recommended to change. I told him to try fixing first, which would cost N5,000 plus Gas N,2000. In the process he said the compressor has "grinded" it is better to change. Spent 15k on tokumbo compressor and the the light stopped blinking for 2 days and started again.

I went back he said if i change compressor i better change condenser to match. Condenser is N20,000, and i was suppose to pay N25,000 just decided to google Camry AC light blinking, to my greatest surprise it was just a fuse that was causing it. I even got the part number for the relay online, opened my front panel and found the relay with the matching number.

Went to the auto parts shop and requested for the matching relay and asked the guy to fix it in. This is about N3,000, guess what it is working as new no more blinking.

Just in case u encounter this problem, look for the relay with this number in the fuse box, #90987-02022 replace it with this #90987-02028 u will be fine. Consult Google before going to the mechanic.

You are lucky. " My people perish form lack of knowledge".

But why did you replace with a different relay?

I know most don't know how to use the search function here but we talked about this issue recently, but knowing that Nigerians will rather have their mechanic rip their reliable Toyota apart sometime we just give advice sit back and watch things go down hill.

There is no problem you will have with your car that no one else has not dealt with.

The manufacturer is aware of all problems, they get a log from dealers and if its very common with the defect trace to a component they'll issue a TSB and there it one for that problem
