Wojciech Szczesny – 4
Szczesny had a solid first half (but was barely tested). In the second half he made a big error. Racing off his line to concede a penalty (leading to a goal) and he was sent off. Immature mistake and Ospina will look to pounce.

Calum Chambers – 7.5
Chambers was impressive again at right back. He was solid, although sometimes looked beaten for pace. He made no real mistakes and slotted into Arsenal’s passing game very well. Big future for him at the club.

Laurent Koscielny – 8
Another quality performance from Laurent Koscielny. Aggressive defending from the Frenchman once again. Quality in possession as he brought the ball out of the defence to start Arsenal attacks.

Per Mertesacker – 7
Not a lot to do but Mertesacker did everything right when he was tested. Very strong in the air and helped see out the Arsenal win. Captained the side to a very good win so he will be happy.

Kieran Gibbs – 7.5
A strong performance from Gibbs. Maybe at fault against Spurs for their goal, but started again today and looked very solid. He’s certainly built some muscle up, and looks an attacking threat too.

Mathieu Flamini – 6.5
The Frenchman lunged in to get an unnecessary yellow card. Was better than normal but pretty quiet and never put under any real pressure. At least he didn’t get injured or sent off.

Santi Cazorla – 7.5
Cazorla played in a deeper midfield position with Wilshere, Ramsey and Arteta all out of the line up. He was brilliant and helped keep the ball. Certainly has the close control to play there. Will be disappointed he didn’t score late on.

Mesut Özil (off 77) – 7.5
Teamed up well with Alexis Sanchez to assist the third Arsenal goal. Looked very tired after an hour, but was elegant in possession and linked up the play well in his favoured central position.

Alexis Sanchez – 8.5
Alexis was left on the bench against Tottenham and he showed today why he should have started. Scoring and assisting for fun, Alexis is a game changer and capable of making the difference in big games. What a signing he was.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 8
Chamberlain has huge potential, and he’s starting to fulfil it. In recent games he has been incredibly energetic and direct. His pace is very useful and can hurt any team. Let’s hope he can find a consistency and keep this going.

Danny Welbeck – 9.5
What a performance from Danny Welbeck. Admittedly, Galatasaray’s defending was poor, but Welbeck scored his first ever career hat trick is brilliant style. Three brilliant finishes and a tireless work rate. Let’s hope the Englishman can keep this form going for the rest of the season.

David Ospina – 8
Was very impressive after he came on. After Szczesny’s stupidity, Ospina will hope he can impress when he fills in in the Champions League.

Tomas Rosicky – 6
A lot better than Southampton, Rosicky helped Arsenal keep the ball and keep pressing in the latter stages.

Jack Wilshere (on 77) – N/A
Not enough time to make any real impact.
