Daniel’ll end up in PDP –Kashamu
Chairman of Mobilisation and Organisation Committee of
the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in South-West, Prince
Buruji Kashamu, has predicted that the former governor
of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, will end up in the
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Kashamu made the prediction on Sunday at a reception
held for about 2,000 defectors, mostly youths from the
Labour Party (LP) at Ijebu-Igbo in Ijebu-North Local
Government Area of the state.
A former LP leader in Ijebu-Ode, Odogbolu and Ijebu
North local government areas, Mr. Awofala Awoniyi, led
the defectors, while Elder Gbenga Lawal from Omu Ijebu
also defected to the PDP.
Kashamu said: “Daniel will end up in PDP whether he likes
it or not. There is nowhere else for him to go. Seventy per
cent of his people are in PDP, what can he do with the
remaining 30 per cent except he surrenders to PDP.
“Daniel got to political limelight through the PDP, he
cannot bite the fingers that fed him.
All achievements recorded by his administration
were under PDP. He has started to romance PDP.
“He cannot do anything except he honourably surrenders
to PDP. And he has already surrendered.”
The state chairman of the party, Bayo Dayo, while reacting
to the reported alliance between PDP and Labour
Party, described the latter as a mushroom party, adding
that “there is no arrangement between the two parties in
any way.”
His words: “The Labour Party structure is collapsing into
PDP, not because we have an arrangement, but we know
that the party is a mushroom party that cannot win a seat
in the House of Assembly.
“There is no partnership between the two parties, none in
any way. Daniel is a leader without much followers now,
you can see his followers trooping to our party every time;
you cannot be a leader in LP and your followers are in
PDP.”
